“When I started to experience fighting cultures around the globe, I came to understand that to execute a punch or an attack properly you need to repeat it thousands of times. The same applies to photography. Really, to get good at anything, you need years and years of
repetition. Then, when you’re finally able to turn off your brain and act without thinking, that’s when it becomes art. The best things happen when instinct takes over.” - Boogie

Natalie Keyssar contributed a series of photographs to the Guinness “A Lovely Day” campaign  — a sweeping, 5,057-mile journey across all 50 states, to capture the rituals, gatherings, and everyday moments that bring people together over a pint.

Natalie was part of an incredible group of photographers who fanned out across the country to make this work, and it’s their collective voice that makes this campaign so special. Hat tip to Alex Webb, Jim Goldberg, Sofia Aldinio, Jared Moossy, Brian Frank, Justin Maxon, Corinne Schiavone, Luis Gerard, and Eros Hoagland. Big thanks to the team at .creative.studio for letting Natalie play a part in this herculean group effort.

Kate Warren photographed Heather Lane for the cover of . It’s a heartbreaking personal account about the murder of her twin sister Katlyn and how she led the search to find her body.

Kate wrote beautifully about the experience on her own post: “Heather and I met only a month after Katlyn was buried beneath a grove of willow trees on their father’s Pennsylvania farm. It was still so early that the grave remained unmarked, a makeshift shrine standing on the hillside nearby. From the moment we met, Heather showed up fully open, grounded, and fiercely present. Through our time together, she shared her story with remarkable candor and strength, allowing me to make images that reflect her warrior-like resolve and grace.

I spent three years in graduate school creating a photographic project about how loss shaped my family, and this commission came out of sharing that work with photo editor , who immediately understood my interest in working on emotionally complex human stories. She called me with this assignment more than a year later.

I’m grateful to apply what I’ve learned through personal work to stories like this. Photography can bridge the space between private grief and shared humanity. By connecting through experiences of loss, we create images that remind us that none of us are truly alone. Centering trauma-informed practices, I aim to offer care and safety in every collaboration—walking alongside those I photograph as we make images that honor their strength and spirit.”

New York’s hottest bar is: .ny photographed by for . Asked what it’s like to photograph a bar versus a venue, Natalie says, “A lot of my work is more documentary in nature, so I love shoots like this cause i can fully lean into the aesthetics and the atmosphere. I think photographing a bar is really about figuring out how to photograph a vibe. You want to amplify the energy you’re feeling in the space and figure out how to use the light and color to reproduce it without detracting from any of it.”
