The Chief of Army Staff of the Pakistan Army, General Qamar Javed Bajwa is on an official visit to the United States. He met and held a meeting with the Secretary of Defense, General (Retd.) Lloyd James Austin at the Pentagon during the 75th anniversary of relations between the United States 🇺🇸 and Pakistan 🇵🇰
Pentagon Readout: “It was my pleasure to host Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff, General Qamar Javed Bajwa, to the Pentagon where we discussed our long-standing defense partnership and areas of mutual interest. This long-standing partnership continues today with discussions focused on opportunities to address key mutual defense interests.”
The COAS also held meetings with the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency Mr. William Burns, United States Deputy Secretary of State Mrs. Wendy Sherman, U.S. National Security Advisor Mr. Jake Sullivan and the Director of National Intelligence, Mrs. Avril Haines.
The COAS was accompanied by the Director General of the Inter-Services Intelligence Directorate Lieutenant General Nadeem Anjum, the Chief of General Staff Lieutenant General Azhar Abbas, and the Director General Military Operations Major General Awais Dastagir.
