Hello Facebook Friends,
We have a challenge. Which of the following is written by Ai, and which are human? At least one is Ai.
Sample 1
I was nearly the last to be served at the kava ceremony, an honor or a gentle warning, I wasn’t quite sure. Eager not to appear the awkward foreigner (though I am rarely anything else), I clapped enthusiastically, shouted “Bula!” as instructed, and knocked the stuff back like it was a tequila shot on spring break. The taste, I must tell you, was somewhere between liquefied turf and the water left over after cleaning gardening tools. I did my best to maintain a look of Zen-like appreciation, though I suspect I mostly looked as if I’d just swallowed a hedgehog.
But then, something marvelous happened. My lips began tingling, my tongue went pleasantly numb, and an inexplicable sense of calm rolled through me like the warm tides lapping at the Fijian shore. I stayed for a second round, of course … purely for research. By the time I made my way back to the ship, I was floating in a dreamy blur of waves, reef, sun, and kava, utterly convinced I had achieved some minor form of enlightenment.
Sample 2
I am almost last to be served and drink the Kava. I excitedly clap my hands and say, “Bula!” and gulp it down fast, like I am downing a shot. The taste is almost like gritty dirt; I attempt to hide any expression of distaste and just focus on the effects. Almost immediately, I feel my tongue, mouth, and lips beginning to tingle and go a bit numb. The relaxing wave undulates through me just like the smooth ocean waves around us as I relax into this extrasensory moment.
I stay for the second round and repeat it all over again, ending with a second bowl of Kava that takes me to the crest of the experience, to just be at one with the ceremony and lovely group. Surrendering, I ride the magical wave of relaxation from Kava, taking me back to the ship. I will always cherish my experience among the South Pacific winds, blending us into a natural harmony of waves, reef, island, sun, and kava for a deep soul healing and sojourn.
Sample 3
I was almost last to be served, and when the bowl came to me, I clapped my hands eagerly and shouted, “Bula!” before downing the bitter liquid as if it were a shot meant to steady nerves. The taste was like gritty dirt, earth turned liquid, a flavor I tried to conceal beneath a smile and nod to our hosts. Almost instantly, a strange numbness spread across my tongue, lips, mouth, a delicate, tingling. The sensation rippled through me like the slow, smooth swell of the ocean nearby, pulling me into a quiet reverie that seemed to dissolve time itself.
I stayed for a second round. Surrendering to that wave of quiet relaxation, I drifted back toward the ship, carrying with me the deep, subtle healing of the South Pacific winds and the rhythm of waves, reef, island, sun, and kava blending into a silent hymn for the soul.
