Over the last few years, TCL has been expanding its presence into the western world and has also had a sideline in smartphones. Though they are strong in creating TV screens, they have gained quite a following with their smartphone models.

Those who pay attention to tech trends might remember the company from its brief time of being the champion of Blackberry phones. They released both the KeyOne and BlackBerry KEY2, but their flashes of brilliance were short-lived. Now that the firm has released some AI devices into the market, it hopes to make an impression and create a good name.

The TCL 10 5G is the device that is most desired right now, its design was designed with this very purpose in mind. The TCL Roku TV is more than just ‘good enough for most people. It's also a good value for money as it offers a nice compromise on quality & price.

TCL has a strong brand and they are experiencing an increasingly significant amount of competition from every direction. That makes it important for them to stand out among the rest and offer something new, especially as their brand is not well-known in general.

The TCL 10 5G is an excellent performer, completing most tasks with a simple breeze. It's been tested on some of the most difficult games and can still manage to complete them well. So this is more powerful than most people but for professionals with demanding use cases, it may not be sufficient - for that, you'll need to look elsewhere.

If you were to look in the dictionary, you might find an accompanying picture of the TCL 10 5G. As smartphone design has become more typical, as designers are looking for something to change that trend of sameness, there are a lot of heady concepts being discussed. For example, transdisciplinarity and open-source hardware developments.

This phone is available in black or Mercury Grey. It has a glass rear, Gorilla Glass on the front, and a plastic frame. The frame and back are sturdy but feel like something that you'd buy in lesser stores - you can take it on another store's sale!

This is a very nice device with features like a large screen and a high-quality camera that are noticeable even from the outside. It also has less of a bezel and chin than most other devices in its price range.

The left side of the TCL 10 5G sports a Google Assistant button, which while it's not set to work when the screen is off by default, can be useful. The rear of the device features a fingerprint scanner and a sleek camera with two LED flash units that flank it.

At 210 grams, the TCL 10 5G is hefty, no doubt a result of the large battery pack inside. Those who use their device on the go (i.e., while walking) may wish to look elsewhere as this is not a great choice for someone in motion.

The 3.5 mm headphone jack, while welcomed by many, was a minor complaint that we had with the device. Although the speaker produces decent sound and provides stereo options, it pales in comparison to its competing devices at the same price point.

Build quality has been very good so far. The handset feels sturdy and rigid even when it is on the move or subjected to light pressure. This makes it feel more expensive than the price it retails for.

Xiaomi has another high-value phone option available, the Poco X3 NFC. This is just like every other Poco device before it & almost every other Xiaomi phone on the market.

But the strategy has changed since 2018’s Poco F1. The Poco X3 doesn’t come with a top-tier Snapdragon 8 series processor, because fitting one into a budget phone just doesn’t seem feasible anymore.

Even though its price is relatively low, it has a lot of high-quality features. One example would be its ability to handle intense gaming sessions with no noticeable lag time. The Samsung Galaxy S10 has a large and well-specced screen, and a stereo speaker, and handles prestige titles such as Fortnite exceptionally well. It also comes equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G processor.

Dolby Vision, a superior color resolution technology, offers an experience that's miles ahead of other brands. The phone also has design and display elements that are uniquely blended for this range--making the Poco X3 a one-of-a-kind premium device.

There are a few small issues that pop up with the Poco X3 NFC. The erratic backlight and system stability updates that come along with it, however, require a firmware update for them to be fixed.

The Poco X3 NFC comes equipped with a 64-megapixel camera, which can produce some stunning shots. However, they often struggle with purple fringing and generally don't offer the best picture quality in its class.

While the camera performance is better than some of its peers, the 2x high-speed mode on the K2000 won't beat out the newest Google Pixel 4A. As for build quality, it leaves a lot to be desired but does perform well in low light.

This is a phone that offers a lot of great features and at a high price. Although it might be appealing to some people, it's not worth the cost.

This gives a mass-market phone that is available at a reasonable price, but the same style and built like most other phones in its market class. It means the back is made out of plastic rather than glass, and the sides out of plastic instead of metal.

You may read online that the sides of this device are metal, but this appears to refer to the thin black band sitting between the glass screen and plastic sides.

The Poco X3 NFC's silicone case is ideal and helps make it less obvious that it is a large device. But be cautious with this phone because its size doesn't mean you can handle it on your own.

The Poco X3 comes with a 6.67-inch screen, which is almost twice as big as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 9's 6.53-inch screen. This difference is obvious!

The new Poco F1 phone’s large logo is not exactly the smartest 2020 tech design trend. But, that doesn’t mean we hate it.

Poco is hidden in a layer of the case, so while it may look like fashion branding, it has nothing to do with what this Samsung device can do. We prefer the motto "take back control" or "dare to leap" because they are not associated with the electronics company.

The Poco X3 NFC has an interesting case that’s designed to work with & protect your phone. It has a camera housing that is similar in size & shape to the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. The case has a little lip that extends to meet the housing. This is to avoid scuffs on the side panel, should you accidentally drop it.

The Poco X3 NFC is nearly the most advanced display at the price. The 6.67'' IPS LCD will provide you with a 2400x1080 resolution and has a punch hole for the front camera.

While the Poco X3 screen is impressive, it's not just its specs that make it stand out. It also has a 120Hz refresh rate, which most budget phones won't have. This saves you from feeling like your phone is going haywire whenever things get intense.

You will notice the Poco X3 NFC has some unique features that make it a more enjoyable & functional phone than your current device.

The most striking feature of this screen is that it supports a wide gamut of colors and HDR and a 1080p Netflix stream. It also has a very swift refresh rate, which won't impact battery life too much.

The Realme X50 5G doesn’t hit the mark in the brightness department, with a rating of 450 nits. MSI's Bravo 15 is a less expensive computer that looks the part, with a bulky design, unusual angles, and unnecessary flourishes. Unlike MSI's more expensive models this laptop does not require extensive maintenance but it is less clean and sleek. Its size is impressive, much larger than any other laptop in the segment, while its weight is not too shabby either. The device is easy to carry because it also has a backpack-friendly design.

The laptop’s design is inspiring! It has a sleek black chassis with an unusual geometric pattern etched on the lid. It also has a stylized phoenix symbol to finish it off and make sure nothing can get this one down.

The Bravo 15 is a strange-looking machine and probably wouldn’t feel at home in an office environment — although it's not terrible for productivity work since we'll touch on it later.

Ports

The MSI Bravo 15 is not a he machine but it does pack a respectable number of ports.

These USB ports can connect USB sticks as well as HDMI cables, answering the needs of your device. There is also high definition included. Ethernet cables can also be plugged into the Ethernet port. This will provide an internet connection.

This computer does not have a USB-C port, but it does have a gaming PC aspect. The lack of an SD card reader might inconvenience some people, but for their interest in playing PC games, it doesn't bother them.

Keyboard and touchpad

The MSI Bravo 15's keyboard turned out to be one of its most pleasant surprises. One of my frequent criticisms of gaming laptops is that they misplace their keyboards, cramming tiny setups into the center of the chassis, rather than using all available space. Granted, they’re not perfect and I wouldn't want to buy one every time I need a gaming laptop. It has a whole keyboard that expands across the body of the device, with a number pad.

Many people use the Numpad for touch typing and navigating with ease with these keys. A good laptop might learn a lesson from the Bravo 15 in terms of overall design!

There are a few aspects of the touchpad that I found myself getting accustomed to, but there is one aspect of it that tends to be bothersome, and since I type a lot on my laptop, the comfort was important. Consider one of our picks for gaming mice instead.

TCL 20 Pro 5G has made a bigger push into the mobile market by releasing smartphones and soundbars in recent years. But these are not what people typically associate it with nowadays. The top phone in its family! Only second-generation devices! TCL started using its name on its phones!

TCL has put out a lot of phones, but this one is probably the most premium it’s ever released. It comes after the TCL 20L and 20L Plus.

Because mid-range phones can offer the same specs as more expensive models. But often with a cheaper design and fewer features, they are among the most popular phones on the market. But, you’re paying a lot of money for your phone and you should be able to get what you were hoping for. And while they compromise on other aspects like design and build quality, mid-range phones are still affordable and affordable phones tend to offer more value in general.

The TCL 20 Pro 5G’s processor and camera are very similar to those on other 5G phones. But the specially designed design and impressive display technology make this one stand out from its competitors.

The back of the phone is pretty and feels smooth to hold thanks to its curved edges. The cameras are flush with the backside so they can look great in any light.

There’s also a voice button that you can map to whatever function you want on the phone. We mapped it to what we found very useful, for example being able to turn on the flashlight at a specific time.

This phone offers a clear and vibrant viewing experience on the small display – thanks to some of TCL’s smarts. The contrast is improved, as well as the brightness to make it even better when watching movies or TV.
Our final point on “looking good is that you look great – at least when taking a picture with the phone’s selfie camera. While we weren’t exactly captivated by the handset’s main snappers, the front-facing one was surprisingly high-quality.”

Don’t buy this phone if you’re looking for fast charging and high FPS on the display. It only has a 60Hz resolution, with many new phones already having 120Hz.

The TCL 20 Pro 5G is a phone designed for performance and it delivers. Though not great with battery life, it’s not the worst either and what you can’t get from the device itself, you will be able to replace it by buying a new battery.

So this is a good phone, but if you’re looking for something that will be great all-around, it may not be your best choice. If all you want is a device that makes your life easier or one with a quality display, however, keep in mind that this is worth considering. If you’re looking for one feature, in particular, make sure to check out how well other phones fit your needs. Depending on what you’re looking for, another phone may be more of a good fit.

Design

The phone’s display is not particularly curved, but its big body provides plenty of room for comfortable swipes and taps. We enjoyed the edges since they made it easier to grip.

The Samsung Galaxy S9 includes two USB-C ports, one 3.5mm headphone jack, and a power button on the right side. There’s a custom button on the left that allows for quick access to your most commonly used functions. It also offers double-tapping as an alternative way of pressing it.
