Amplifyer, a strategic partner to a vast array of brands ranging from disruptive startups to Fortune 1000 giants, is on the lookout for a seasoned sales professional. Our ideal candidate brings a diverse expertise in ad tech/programmatic, SaaS, social media, branding and engagement, content and creative strategy, and customer experience.
As the Sales Director for North America, you'll spearhead the expansion of brand awareness and drive the growth of advertising revenue for our partners' innovative solutions. Essential to this role is a deep understanding of data and media, along with a robust warm network of direct clients and media agency decision-makers.
We seek a strategic, creative thinker who can blend seamlessly into our collaborative environment, maintain a positive attitude, and contribute significantly to our mission.
Responsibilities:
• Serve as an extension of our partners’ sales teams, driving revenue growth through developing, managing, and scaling relationships with direct clients, which often includes ad agencies. This includes all stages of the sales process, from prospecting to deal closing.
• Assist in formulating and implementing effective go-to-market strategies for our partners' products.
• Collaborate closely with our partners to provide real-time client feedback and assist in the development of successful ad products.
• Articulate the Amplifyer narrative compellingly through persuasive presentations and industry events, as required.
Qualifications:
• A Bachelor’s degree.
• A minimum of 3 years' experience in online ad and/or SaaS sales, demonstrating a track record of successful direct client and agency interactions. Familiarity with data/ad tech is a must.
• A robust warm network of marketing decision-makers is a prerequisite.
• A self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and a drive to significantly contribute to business growth.
• Exceptional teamwork capabilities, with the ability to excel in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and CRM platforms such as Salesforce or Hubspot.

Post-Success Blues: Shaking Off the Low After the High

Recently, my son wrapped up his first professional performance run in The Secret Garden, an experience filled with passion, hard work, and an amazing group of talented individuals. It was incredible watching him thrive on stage, and I couldn't be more proud of him. But, now as the excitement of the closing curtain fades, he's grappling with the post-show blues. The routine, camaraderie, and the high of performance are missed. This phase made me reflect on the parallels between his experience and the world of sales.

In sales, we often experience highs—signing a big deal, successfully navigating a challenging negotiation, or hitting our sales targets. We ride that wave of success, buoyed by adrenaline and accomplishment. But what happens when the deal is done, and the dust settles? Often, we're left with a void—an anticlimactic lull that can mirror my son's post-show blues. The thrill of the chase is over, and while the immediate hunger for the next goal kicks in, there's also a need to process and recharge.

So, how do we balance these feelings and bounce back?
1) Reflect and Celebrate: Take the time to savor your win and acknowledge your hard work. Celebrating success helps us create a positive association with our hard work, setting the stage for future motivation.
2) Rest and Recharge: Achieving a significant goal can be physically and emotionally draining. Allow yourself a pause to recharge your batteries. This downtime is as crucial as action in a sustainable career.
3) Establish a New Goal: While it's important to rest, having the next target in sight can help channel our energies back into productivity, even when we're feeling low.
4) Reconnect: After a significant sale or a performance, there can be a sense of disconnection. Reconnect with your team, share your experiences, and support each other through the ups and downs.
5) Take Care of Your Health: Balancing your mood and energy levels often starts with physical health. Proper nutrition, enough sleep, and regular physical activity all contribute to our overall wellbeing.

In the theater, as in sales, the process is cyclical—there are inevitable highs and lows. Each experience is a stepping stone to our next 'performance.' The key lies in gracefully riding these waves, knowing when to push forward, when to pause, and when to celebrate.
