Pretty is easy to come by these days. Any designer with a pulse and a Creative Market subscription can make something look nice.

For anyone new here, hi, I’m Sam, I run JUNO Creative.

Quick version: I spent the better part of a decade at the Met, went to NYU for art history and museology, wrote a whole thesis on what makes people care (not a metaphor, actual thesis, defended it and everything), and now I use all of that to build brands for people.

But the more I watch corporations co-opt the language of ethics and empathy the less I care about being too much.

Branding is my discipline and it’s being weaponized and I think we need to talk about that more than we do.

The handwritten font thing needs to be discussed. Not because it’s ugly. It isn’t. But because slapping one onto your brand and calling it authentic is skipping about fifteen steps and I can’t keep watching it happen in silence.
