How can I get more leads as a photographer on Instagram?

As with most service-based industries, finding clients on Instagram as a photographer is dependent on showcasing examples of your work as well as providing social proof in the form of client testimonials.

Let’s talk about self care as a small business owner.  
 
It can be easy to get carried away with your work. You’re up at 2 AM finishing a project for a client and you end up waking up later than you’d like with a foggy head. You try to compensate for your sluggishness with a cup of coffee and before you know it, it’s another night of staying up at 2 AM.  
 
Maybe that was a little too specific. We definitely weren’t speaking from personal experience. 
 
The point is, it’s in our blood as entrepreneurs to overwork ourselves. Take it easy. Breathe. Put on a face mask. Dip into a bubble bath. Put a bunch of fruits in a papaya and eat them. 
 
You deserve it.

It is both personal and social, everybody has their own personal technē around their speech based on learned experiences and personal tics, and very social in that communities all communicate amongst each other on the interpersonal and large scale.“

Research shows that small businesses who utilize more hashtags have more visibility and engagement. However, with Instagram’s 30 hashtag limit, you need to be strategic about which hashtags you use. 
 
Use a combination of industry, branded, trending, and general hashtags. Let’s say you’re running Sephora’s account and you want to create a set of hashtags for an image of a lipstick. Your tags could look something like: 
 
Industry: beauty, makeup 
Branded: sephora 
Trending: aprilfools, amongus 
General: love, happy 
 
Make sure each set of hashtags is catered to each post you make to ensure that the most relevant audience can discover your content.

What is alt-text and how can it help you grow your business?   
   
Alt-text is short for “alternative text”. Alt-text is a description that identifies the content of an image and allows visually impaired users to receive information about the content they’re consuming from their screen reader.    
   
Alt-text is automatically generated by Instagram’s algorithm but it can be inaccurate. By writing your own alt-text manually, you not only do your part in making Instagram a more inclusive space, but you also improve the chances of your content being seen.    
   
To edit your alt-text, simply go to Edit Post>Advanced Settings>Write Alt Text.   
   
Here’s an example to help you all out. The alt-text I used for this post was:    
“Alt-text infographic for business growth on Instagram. Strategy for social media management. Digital marketing tips.”
