BREAKING NEWS: Thai soldiers have indeed captured nearly 20 Cambodian soldiers
Cambodian military commander tells military attachés and diplomats from 13 countries that Thailand captured 20 Cambodian soldiers (1 escaped, 2 suspected dead)! After the ceasefire, Thai soldiers pretended to come shake hands with Cambodian soldiers on the Cham Tae battlefield, then immediately turned guns on them and captured them. As of now, they have not been released.
(Preah Vihear): On the morning of July 30, 2025, Cambodian military commanders informed military attachés and diplomatic officials from 13 countries about the incident in which Thai soldiers captured 20 Cambodian soldiers (1 escaped, 2 suspected dead) after the ceasefire went into effect. This capture occurred when Cambodian soldiers went to shake hands with Thai soldiers on the Cham Tae battlefield.
According to confirmation by the Cambodian military, this was done during an occasion when high-ranking Ministry of Defense officials led foreign embassy delegations, military attachés stationed in Cambodia, and relevant parties to inspect the Cambodia-Thailand border to observe the locations and actual situation surrounding the implementation of the ceasefire along the Cambodia-Thailand border.
The Cambodian military confirmed to military attachés from all 13 countries that when the ceasefire went into effect on the morning of July 29, 2025, Cambodian soldiers went to shake hands with Thai soldiers. When they were walking back, Thai soldiers suddenly pointed their guns and immediately captured the Cambodian soldiers.
According to claims by Cambodian military commanders, as of the afternoon of July 30, 2025, the Thai military group has not yet released the Cambodian soldiers.
