Adidas x Ready Player Me: Unique Avatar Creation Platform

It’s no April fool’s joke. The first collaboration between Adidas (https://www.adidas-group.com) and Ready Player Me (https://readyplayer.me), a cross-application avatar platform designed specifically for the metaverse, will see the launch of a personality-based AI-generated avatar creation platform featuring the Adidas Originals’ Ozworld shoe collection.

The Collaboration

For a while now, Adidas has been plotting its path into the metaverse and non-fungible token (NFT) collectibles. Lately, the firm announced its partnership with Ready Player Me to create a link between Adidas Originals platform and the company's latest Ozworld shoe release.

Ozworld Shoes

The sneakers will be sold under the collection name Ozworld. By empowering technology, customers can create metaverse avatars that utilize the Adidas Ozworld brand. “Each unique avatar will be able to traverse the web through a bespoke partnership with Ready Player Me,” Adidas said. “This is the first brand partnership that pushes the limits of the platform – offering interoperability in generative avatars with over 1,500 different metaverse apps and games.”

Personality-Based Avatars

Unlike other avatars which are created from physical preferences, users will create their Adidas avatar based on their personality. To create an avatar, they have to answer a series of questions and choose their favorite Ozworld footwear silhouette. Once the information is accepted, the platform will generate a unique digital avatar based on the user’s answers.

After receiving their characters, users can try on and purchase sneakers from the collection. Also, they can download their avatar to use as stickers or GIFs on social media. Besides, the avatar can also be used across over 1,500 apps and games that partner with Ready Player Me.

Launch Date

The sportswear giant will launch the personality-based AI-generated avatar creation platform on April 8 (https://ozworld.adidas.com/). Adiclub members and Adidas NFT holders will get exclusive early access via a unique URL to the metaverse on April 28, when the avatars’ first installment will launch.

Following on the heels of other fast food operators that are setting up shop in the digital world, today, we introduce you to Zero Sugar Byte, the first Coca-Cola (https://www.coca-colacompany.com) flavored drink to emerge in the metaverse. Speaking about the ‘world’s favorite beverage’ going digital, Oana Vlad, Senior Director of Global Strategy at The Coca-Cola Company, said, “We wanted to create an innovative taste inspired by the playfulness of pixels, rooted in the experiences that gaming makes possible. Coca-Cola teams from all across the world combined their creative, marketing, technology, R&D, and design efforts to choose the perfect combination of making pixels come alive in a taste experience. What’s more, there is an exclusive packaging design showing the pixelated form of the Coca-Cola logo.

What To Expected
There are two digital experiences that come together with the Zero Sugar Byte project. Firstly, “Pixel Point”, is a metaverse mini-game with four multiplayer levels named The Castle, The Escape, The Race, and The Tower. In each game, you need to work together with other players to solve challenges and progress up the tower.
Another meta experience is an AR game featuring the story of BYTE, an eight-bit pixel that got left behind when Coca-Cola Byte entered the metaverse. By scanning your Coca-Cola Zero Sugar Byte package, your mission is to guide BYTE to rejoin the Coca-Cola logo in the game. Do your best to beat other players and post your finishing time on social media.

How To Purchase
The Zero Sugar Byte will be available in twin packs of 12.5-oz. cans; one for consumption and the other as a collectible. The drinks are being sold in limited quantities with the first batch set to hit the stores in Latin America on 4 April, in the US on 2 May online via the company’s website (www.coca-cola.com/creations), and in retail outlets in China on 23 May.
