And now Golf Channel cancels the new season of "Big Break" which was delayed a week by the ad backlash. The winner was to play in the PGA tour in Nov. That will not happen now.

This ad has had repercussions all over the place. This was a massively bad decision that should have been carefully thought about before making it.

My guess, there will continue to be more fallout before this is over.

Tough break, Big Break x Good Good winner.

And now 's CEO, not co-founder, jumps into the fray at 3:30 this morning saying he's going to sue for a coordinated media blitz against them.

Ok, this guy needs to keep his mouth closed NOW. He had the opportunity to put out a statement & is now behind the 8 ball, a few days later. Now is not the time to complain. Now is the time to fix the situation. He's only making things worse.

Good Good Golf wants to get into the rough with Callaway after being dumped.

's co-founder makes an apology.

While I applaud him for doing this, as a co-founder, he needs polishing. His statement doesn't go far enough. He's 26 years old & doesn't understand the corporate world enough yet. He needs help so the public will trust him & his company again.

steps back from another sponsorship. This time as sponsor of PGA event in TX this Fall.

My recommendation, they should step back from everything for at least six months. Then re-evaluate their situation.

Yes, sales are going to take a hit. But they have yet to take accountability the way has. It's time.

After releasing a promotional video that included footage of a man shoving a woman to the ground over a new driver, Callaway is cutting ties with the YouTube social media influencers.

has pulled its sponsorship from a show that it was doing with in the wake of the backlash to their horrible ad.

While I think this is a smart idea right now that both companies part ways in every sense, I think they each need to make a statement, not just Calloway.

The video showed a man shoving a woman to the ground as she reached for a new Callaway driver.

Another company needing to apologize. While Target recognized how hurtful their costume is to a particular demographic, this isn't the first time they have had an issue where an article of clothing has been offensive to a particular group & needed to be removed. Public trust is rapidly growing thin, & this statement needs to do more.

Actions speak louder than words, including new hires to prove the right people are overseeing the decision-making process.

An apology from us: We removed an offensive Halloween costume that should never have been part of our assortment. It is no longer for sale. As a company, we got this wrong, and we are deeply sorry. We know this is especially hurtful for our Black guests, team members and partners. Removing the costume is an important first step, and we are looking closely at how this happened and what needs to change to ensure this won’t happen again.

As a PR/crisis comms expert for 30+ yrs, I can tell you this is a dispassionate statement written by Chip's (perfect name for golf - omg!) PR team. It says what it needs to without an emotion behind it. It's kind of sad/pathetic. I hope everyone sees thru it. Calloway could've done better. They basically covered their ass.
