Words to lose: “We’re going to wait five minutes for everyone to join.” “You’re on mute.” “Let’s take this offline.” and “I’m going to give you 10 minutes of your life back.”

While these phrases have become commonplace in the virtual hybrid workplace, the language we use sets the stage for collaborations, brainstorms, and sets the tone for how we approach our work, in general. The phrases we choose can sometimes have unintended negative consequences.
