🇮🇩🐅 EYES OF THE TIGER🐅🇮🇩
Noted wildlife photographer Mags Williams brilliantly captured this head-on close-up image of a magnificent Sumatran Tiger (Panthera tigris sondaica) on October 28 2012 in the mountain forests of Gunung Leuser National Park in Aceh Province of Sumatra, Indonesia using a Nikon D4 with a Carl Zeiss Milvus 2.8/15 Aspheric lens.
There are five tiger subspecies with Sumatran tigers being the smallest of them all.
With only around 350 mature individuals left in the wild, this species is classified as “critically endangered” on the IUCN&NR red-list of threatened taxa. This steady decline is due to poaching, habitat loss and continuous human-wildlife conflict.
This tiger's average lifespan in the wild is between 15-20 years🐅
