If you could choose just one hike in Iceland, what would it be? 🏔️

This one is definitely high on our list! 🤩

Múlagljúfur Canyon in Southeast Iceland is quickly becoming one of the most talked-about trails in the country — and once you see it, you’ll understand why.

The trailhead is just a 10-minute drive from Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, making it an easy add-on if you’re already heading that way.

Here’s what to expect:
⭐ 3.8 km (~2.4 mi) round trip
⭐ 180 meters (~600 ft) elevation gain
⭐ Steep terrain
⭐ Sturdy hiking boots and a reasonable level of fitness are a must

The higher you climb, the more the canyon reveals itself — it’s dramatic, expansive, and completely worth the effort.

Just remember to keep a safe distance from the cliffsides at all times 🙏

If Fjallsárlón is already on your itinerary, Múlagljúfur deserves a spot on the list too. You won’t regret it.

Who’s visiting us in July? 🙋‍♂️🙋‍♀️🙋✨

July is peak summer in Iceland — but Iceland still gets to decide what that looks like 😅

☀️ DAYLIGHT
18–21 hours of daylight to fill with adventures. The midnight sun is in full effect, so sleep is optional 😄

🌦️ WEATHER
July is full-on summer in Iceland — just don’t expect heat! Temperatures sit between 9–15°C (48–59°F), and you’ll most likely get a mix of sunshine, rain, and wind. Sometimes all in one day.

🎒 PACKING
Wool and fleece layers, an insulating vest, a wind- and waterproof shell, fast-drying trousers, sturdy waterproof boots, warm accessories (gloves, beanie, woolen socks), swimsuit, sunglasses, sunscreen, a casual outfit for dinners, and yes — a sleeping mask for those bright summer nights.

🏔️ ACTIVITIES
Hiking & camping, puffin spotting, whale watching, mountain biking, horse riding, kayaking & boat tours, glacier hiking, snorkeling, ice floating, ATV/buggy rides, hot springs, pools & lagoons. July really does have it all.

Take your glacier lagoon experience to a whole new level! 🤩🧊

The Fjallsárlón Ice Floating Experience is Iceland’s first of its kind, and one of the most unique things you can do in the country. Your guide meets you at the lagoon, fits you in a warm immersion suit, and walks you through a safety briefing before you step into the water.

Yes, it sounds cold! But the suit keeps you completely comfortable — so you can just let go and float weightlessly through still, glacial water while your guide watches over you.

On the right day, you might even get to climb onto an iceberg for the coolest vacation photos 📸

Here’s everything you need to know:
⭐ Available all year round
⭐ Minimum age: 15 years
⭐ Price: 15,900 ISK per person
⭐ Meeting point: Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon
⭐ Book at fjallsarlon.is

If you’re heading to Southeast Iceland, don’t skip this one — save this post for your trip!

What’s the BEST thing about summer in Iceland? The midnight sun 🌞

One of the most surreal parts of visiting Iceland in summer is that the sun simply refuses to set. During the midnight sun season, daylight stretches well past midnight, meaning your adventures don’t have to stop when the clock does. You can hike at 11 pm, drive the Ring Road at 2 am, or sit quietly at the edge of a glacier lagoon as golden light spills across the ice — just like this.

This is Fjallsárlón Glacier Lagoon, a breathtaking spot in Southeast Iceland where icebergs calve directly from Fjallsjökull glacier and drift silently across the water. Less visited than its famous neighbour Jökulsárlón, Fjallsárlón has an atmosphere all its own — raw, still, and completely otherworldly. And in June, that soft evening light just makes the whole thing even more unreal.

Add it to your Iceland summer itinerary. You can thank us later! 😁🧊

Big ideas can come from small places 🇮🇸

After years of seeing patients struggle with prescription dependency, two doctors in Reykjavík decided there had to be a better way.

Their answer was Prescriby.

A digital platform that helps patients safely reduce dependence on addictive medications through personalized tapering plans and clinical support.

Built in Iceland and shaped by real clinical experience, Prescriby is helping improve how long-term medication management can work 📈

Head to your nearest harbour today — it’s Fishermen’s Day! 🌊

This Sunday (June 7th) is Sjómannadagurinn — Iceland’s annual Fishermen’s Day, a tradition going back to 1938 in Reykjavík and Ísafjörður, when communities came together to honor those who risked their lives at sea.

Today it’s a celebration of Iceland’s deep connection to the ocean. Some of the best spots to join the festivities are Grandi by Reykjavík Harbor, Hafnarfjörður, Akureyri, and towns across the Westfjords.

Skál to Iceland’s fishermen! 🚢⚓

“My grandparents thought glaciers would always be there. I thought this too.” - Andri Snær Magnason

The documentary Time and Water takes a look at Iceland’s changing landscape through a completely different lens: family archives. By pairing old home movies and oral histories with the reality of melting glaciers, director Sara Dosa and author Andri Snær Magnason create a moving time capsule about what it means to inherit and witness a changing world, and to feel a family generation slipping away.

Directed by Sara Dosa (Fire of Love) and produced by National Geographic, the film is a deeply personal reflection on family, memory, home, and the fragile beauty of what we inherit.

Packing for Iceland in summer? Stop right there! 🛑🧳

Iceland in summer is magical — but it will humble you if you show up unprepared. The weather is unpredictable, the landscapes are wild, and your cute cotton hoodie is going to let you down 😢

Here’s what to actually pack 👇

⭐ First things first — it’s still ICEland. Even in summer, temperatures are mild at best, so don’t expect heat. The clue is literally in the name, yet it catches visitors off guard every single time.

⭐ Your outer layer must be windproof and waterproof, no exceptions. Even on a dry day, you’ll be walking behind waterfalls and hiking through spray — soaking wet in about 5 seconds. Underneath, skip the cotton and go for wool or fast-drying, insulating materials that keep you warm even when wet.

⭐ Footwear matters more than you think. White sneakers and Icelandic nature are not a great match. Hiking boots are highly recommended for most adventures and required for some — your feet will thank you.

⭐ Don’t forget warm accessories either. A beanie, gloves, and woolen socks are total lifesavers on breezy summer evenings and long adventures under the midnight sun.

⭐ And yes, pack a casual outfit too. Locals love to laugh at tourists wandering Reykjavík looking like they just crawled off a mountain. A pair of jeans, a shirt, and clean sneakers for dinner will do just fine.

Happy packing, and see you in Iceland! 🇮🇸
