For our latest installment of “Walrus Ideas that Never Made it to the Real World” comes a campaign for a 12 Miles of Bad Road, an HBO show that didn’t make it past the pilot. The series revolved around the moneyed inhabitants of Preston Hollow Texas, one of the richest enclaves in America, and these print ads were intended to be placed next to actual ads for luxury brands like Cartier and Prada.

For this installment of “Walrus Ideas That Never Made It to the Real World” comes a dead idea from the work we did promoting Staples as THE destination for printer ink: Inky, the rideable ink cartridge. We proposed that four of these mechanical cartridges (one for each C,M,Y and K - obv.) would be installed in front of every Staples store. This idea was actually close to happening - our production department went deep into the murky world of coin-op mechanical entertainment before Inky got the kibosh.
