🚨 Business Owners: Don’t Get Hooked by Email Phishing! 🚨

Phishing emails are getting smarter every day—and one wrong click could put your business at risk. But you can outsmart the scammers! 💡

Here’s how to stay safe:

🔍 Double-check sender addresses – If it looks odd or unfamiliar, don’t trust it.

⚠️ Don’t click suspicious links – Hover over links to see where they go before clicking.

🔒 Never share sensitive info via email – Legit companies won’t ask for passwords or banking info through email.

🚫 Watch for urgent or threatening language – Phishers often pressure you to act fast. Pause and verify before responding.

🔄 Keep your software updated – Security updates = fewer vulnerabilities for hackers to exploit.

Stay alert, stay protected! 💪

If your computer is cluttered with screenshots, random bookmarks, and half-read articles... you need this tool in your life👀

It’s called OneNote Web Clipper, and once you try it, you’ll wonder how you ever got anything done without it.

Here’s what it does:

You’re browsing, researching, or reading something valuable online.

Instead of bookmarking it (and never looking at it again) or grabbing a messy screenshot, you just click the Clipper button in your browser.

From there, you choose exactly what to capture: the full page, just the article, a specific section, or even a clean visual preview.

⏩In one click it’s saved straight to OneNote, so you can find it later.

You can even add notes, tags, or highlight key points right after clipping.

It’s perfect for collecting research, saving inspiration, building swipe files, or just clearing out tab overload without losing anything important.

It’s free, and it works in Edge and Google Chrome🥳

😅 A teammate just forwarded you a 27-message email thread and asked: “Thoughts?”

Instead of losing 30 minutes (and your sanity) trying to scroll through 3 weeks of back-and-forth... Just open the thread in Outlook and hit Summarize.

Copilot will instantly give you a breakdown of the conversation, who said what, and what still needs a decision.

It even links directly to the original message so you can see exactly where it pulled the info from.

How many times a week do you save email attachments, rename them, and dump them into a folder? 🤔

With Power Automate (included in Microsoft 365), you can save incoming attachments automatically.

🔧 Here’s how:

1. Go to OneDrive and create a folder.

2. Right-click on the folder you just created and go to Automate → Power Automate → Create Flow.

3. This will open a tab with templates. Search for the “Save Outlook.com email attachments to your OneDrive” template and click on it.

4. This will open the template in the Flow website, where you confirm your credentials and click Continue.

5. The flow is now created. All that’s left is to click “Edit” on the toolbar and change the trigger to filter by whatever you want. Options are: “subject line,” “from,” “to,” “cc,” or “email importance.”

6. Click Save and you’re done!

✅ Now every invoice, quote, or report automatically saves where you want it to.

Small automations like this stack up over time. If you save 5 minutes a day, that’s over 30 hours a year, from a single tweak.

Want help setting up useful automations like this for your team? Send us a message and we’ll show you what works best for SMBs🏆

Can you tell if this email is fake? 📩

You’d be surprised how many people can’t.

Human error contributed to 95% of data breaches in 2024, driven by insider threats, credential misuse and user-driven errors, according to a report by Mimecast.

And although 99% of organizations have a data protection solution in place, 78% have still had sensitive data leaked 🫢

One example is the February 21, 2024, Change Healthcare ransomware attack, in which an employee’s credentials were compromised through a phishing email, giving threat actors access to the network.

This incident is noted as the largest data breach of health and medical data in U.S. history, and cost the insurance giant up to $900 million in losses.

For smaller companies, security decision-makers surveyed said the average cost of an insider data leak incident is $15 million.

This is a clear sign that outsourcing IT alone isn’t enough.

Yes, experts can handle your infrastructure, updates, and network security.

But what they can’t control are the digital decisions your team makes every day.

🔐The best firewall in the world can’t stop an employee from sharing login credentials because a phishing email seems legit.

Security is both something you buy and something you practice.

Your team needs the skills to spot modern threats, because even the best systems can be undone by a single human click.

Your IT provider can handle the systems and the training. But the habits? That’s up to you and your team.

If you’d like help delivering cybersecurity training that sticks, send us a message and we’d be happy to help.

🚨What to Do in the First 48 hours After a Data Breach

Most companies get breached and immediately descend into chaos.

No one knows who’s in charge.

Clients start asking questions they can’t answer.

And while they're running around like chickens with their heads cut off, their reputation goes down the drain and their bank account gets emptied out.

Use this 5-step plan to make sure that never happens to you:

1. Assemble your breach response team now. Everyone needs to know their job - who talks to customers, who contacts the bank, who handles the technical cleanup.

2. Call your forensic experts and legal counsel immediately. Don't waste time "gathering more information" first. Every minute you wait costs money.

3. Work with your forensics team. Identify what data was compromised. Be precise. What systems? What records? What kind of personal or financial info? Document everything clearly, as this will affect your next steps.

4. Report the breach to authorities on time. There are strict deadlines depending on your location and industry. Miss them, and you could face fines that dwarf the cost of the breach itself.

5. Communicate with customers using pre-approved templates. You need to get ahead of the story before someone else does. Don’t leave space for rumors or assumptions.

Having this plan in place means you can respond with confidence, and keep your reputation, compliance, and client trust intact.

If you don’t have a breach plan yet, or want a fresh set of eyes on your current one, send us a message and we’ll gladly help.

Like with most things, it’s better to rehearse now than react later.
