We liked this description of MeanPug. In a new comparison of five law firm website companies, Dan Gilroy Design highlighted the breadth of MeanPug’s full-service approach.

That’s a pretty accurate summary of how we think about the work. The website is one piece. The goal is to bring brand, creative, content, search, advertising, social, video, and strategy together instead of making a law firm manage a collection of disconnected vendors.

Southern Maryland Law has served its community for more than 60 years. Its website was ready for an update.

MeanPug refreshed the design and UX of a site spanning more than 475 pages, improving navigation and creating a more straightforward structure for prospective clients.

The new site is designed to make important practice-area and local information easier to find while giving the firm a stronger foundation for local search.

The trophy has officially reached its rightful owner.

Herbie, MeanPug’s 2026 Best in Show at the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association Annual Convention, is settling into life as a champion.

The title. The hardware. The hat. He wears it all well.

Congratulations again to Herbie and his human, Kate Edwards. Thanks for sending proof that the trophy made it home safely.

A proper company retreat recap should probably mention collaboration, alignment, and returning to work refreshed.

All true.

But our few days in the Catskills also gave us campfires, games, art projects, alpacas, friendship bracelets, and further evidence that the MeanPug team can make almost anything competitive.

We missed the teammates who couldn't join us, but we were grateful for the opportunity to spend some real time together outside of work.

We had a very good time. The photos may undersell it.

The verdict is in: Herbie is Best in Show.

Andrew and Tara brought MeanPug to Sunriver for the 2026 Annual OTLA Convention. The dogs got the votes. The firms got straight talk about growth, smarter marketing, and what they should expect from a marketing partner.

Herbie and owner Kate Edwards claimed the title in MeanPug’s first Best in Show competition with 33% of the vote. Aspen took second, followed by Simba in third.

Thanks to everyone who visited the booth, entered their dog, or cast a vote. And thanks to the Oregon Trial Lawyers Association for having us in Sunriver.

Law firms do not need another AI tool dropped into the team chat with a “good luck.” They need a workflow with a named owner.

That owner should know what information can go in, what the AI can rely on, what must be checked, who can approve the result, and what happens before anything leaves the firm.

AI can help your team move faster. It still cannot own the judgment.
