For over a decade, getting a table at Kiki’s meant waiting an hour on Division Street and not minding one bit. Lamb chops under $30, saganaki dripping with honey, house wine in tiny glasses. 🍷 One of those rare New York restaurants that earned its cult status the old-fashioned way.

Now the doors are shut, and a notice is taped to the window. The state of New York has seized the beloved Lower East Side Greek restaurant for nonpayment of taxes, with Bloomberg reporting the total bill reaching $1 million. 💵 No comment from the restaurant. No word on whether it reopens.
