Another dull morning on work trip. Woke up at hotel, headed to breakfast, while knowing that work of that day is dullest thing that service engineer can do, yes replace filters etc.
Not that it would have been enough, while reached car, noticed that keyfob has stopped working, doors remain locked after pressing the open button.
Took couple minutes to notice that someone had exactly same car as I do and that I was standing next to wrong car.. 😅

While usually a reliable source of cheap protein, eggs can be hard to come by right now, and they have been getting expensive. Which is why I'm delighted to share this important discovery.
While eating some Trader Joe's dark chocolate peanut butter cups, I noticed that the serving size of three pieces provides three grams of protein. So, by eating 2/3 of a pack of nine cups, you'll get as much protein, 6g, as you would from an egg. But wait, there's more!
At $1 per pack, six cups cost 67 cents, which currently happens to be the same price as a single egg! So, by substituting cups for eggs, you don't have to shell out any extra cash to get through breakfast; it's six of one, half a dozen of the other!

This morning while dropping my kids off at school I had a very not dull, but strangely common, near accident.
While going through my neighbourhood two Bucks stuck in a rut suddenly popped out from between two vehicles. I had to lock up my brakes to avoid hitting them. Then they fought in front of my truck long enough for me to get this photo before the one on the left finally shoved the one on the right down someone's driveway.
To some, this may seem like a completely unheard of situation in an urban centre. However, I live in Medicine Hat, Alberta in Canada, where the deer are so integrated into society they often use the crosswalks better than humans do. Where the deer casually wander down the sidewalks, and bike paths. I have even seen them use a foot bridge. They are so common and unbothered by humans that I have even backed into one while exiting my driveway in the early morning before the sun came up.
This got me wondering about other cities that maybe have an urban population of animals that folks have just sort of accepted as normal. Which brought me to you fine folks.

I have to keep my bananas in the microwave.
I live in Africa and local wild monkeys seem to easily pick up their smell. They climb through the kitchen window, grab the bananas and retreat, knocking over crockery, etc as they do so.
They cannot pick up the smell of the bananas if they're stored in the microwave.
The same goes with bread, especially fresh bread, although not as much as bananas.

A small gas station in a small town had a pretty clean bathroom but I was intrigued by the random 22 oz soft drink cup left on the urinal. Being in the south I figured must be an abandoned dip/chewimg to***co spit cup but imagine my dull surprise and glee when I figured out that it was really an engineering masterpiece to compensate for a leaky pipe. The water drips into the cup with a straw inserted at a downward angle secured by scotch tape. Once the water reaches a point above the inserted straw the water flows into the urinal without a mess. I marveled at the redneckness and simultaneous dullness of this. Fruit in public gas station men’s room seemed like it might send the wrong message. 22 oz styrofoam soft drink cup for scale. A year ago we bought a programmable coffeemaker because, now that I’m retired, I no longer get up at 5 AM to make coffee before going off to work. Now, my wife gets up first, goes downstairs and has coffee waiting for her in our automatic coffeemaker. But, at least once a month, she will come back upstairs and announce in her pre-coffee voice, “No coffee!” The reason there’s no coffee is because of one of the following reasons:
1. I forget that we have a programmable coffee maker, and don’t even bother to make coffee the night before.
2. I do not know that after programming the coffeemaker, you have to push the program button a second time to activate a program.
3. I forget to push the program button.
4. I have the coffeemaker programmed to start at 7:15, but my wife has to catch a 7AM train to the City.
5. I fill the reservoir with water, but do not put coffee in the filter basket.
6. I put coffee in the filter basket, but do not put water in the reservoir.
7. I fail to put the top on the carafe – the top that keeps the no-drip feature in the up position and allows coffee to flow from the filter basket into the carafe.
8. Someone unplugs the coffeemaker to charge their phone.
9. The power goes out at 3AM.
10. I have the coffemaker programmed to start at 6:15, my wife has a 7AM train to the City, but last Sunday is the start of daylight savings time and I forget to set the coffeemaker clock one hour ahead.
Good thing I don’t drive an automatic coffeemaker.

I expect this, my first post here, also to be my last. I will without doubt be expelled for the pure brilliance of the idea. This was entirely my own solution to eggs rolling off the kitchen benchtop while waiting for the frying pan to heat up. It was nice knowing you all.
