Rag & bone, Why Canât We Get Along, Rig Film For their Spring/Summer â18 collection, Rag & bone partnered with SpecialGuest to create âWhy Canât We Get Along,â a short film starring Kate Mara and Ansel Elgort, co-directed by Benjamin Millepied, Aaron Duffy, and Bob Partington. Taking inspiration from the innovative work of Tony Hill, SpecialGuest developed a concept that invites viewers to experience a new way of seeing not just the clothes, but the world around them. With cinematography by Darius Khondji, the film features five sculptural camera rigs that capture content in unique and unexpected ways. Dancers from backgrounds as varied as ballet, parkour, and YouTube stardom move through the rigs and interact with them to showcase the different looks. Throughout the film, an original track by Thom Yorke poses the question, âWhy Canât We Get Along?â The rigs are an answer to this question. Different perspectives are disorienting, but if we could see the world from each otherâs points of view, maybe we would get along.
