Obsessed with Tom Lloyd “Artist, activist, and community organizer [he] worked primarily in abstraction and technology to create unique, electronically programmed light works” what a fabulous preservation of his work. And don’t get me started on the whole collection in this beautiful brand new MUSEUM… the building🙌! Congratulations on your gorgeous new home! 🙏❤️🔥A long journey well worth the wait.

We are watching live on PBS! • The American Revolution is one of the most important events in human history. We went from being subjects to citizens, and set in motion democratic revolutions around the globe. It’s a great story – and hugely relevant to today. I hope you can watch.

Posted • Today, the New York Times published this exceptional opinion piece by Robert Lee Williams.

Incarcerated at Eastern NY Correctional Facility, Robert — in addition to his work as an essayist — is a full-time Bard student enrolled through BPI.

Featured in the Times’ “Finding Beauty” series, Robert writes about the loss experienced when trees — young and old, small and large — are felled in a prison yard. The work reminds us of the meaning each of us can make, and the harm any of us can do, as we choose to honor or ignore what is precious around us.

Please, give it a moment.

✨Dream Team✨Posted • Progress report from the Samuel H. Scripps Theater Center at Hudson Valley Shakespeare, which recently celebrated its topping out!

Approaching from the north, the building’s curved, mass-timber shell takes center stage. Supported by exposed A-frame columns, this new structure will provide shade and enhance functionality for the 475-seat theater while evolving HVS’s tradition of immersive, outdoor performances.

Built primarily from SFI-certified mass timber and traditional wood carpentry, as well as wood cladding and finishes, the low embodied carbon structure helps reduce the project’s overall carbon footprint. This works in tandem with other green strategies, including photovoltaic panels, rainwater harvesting and reuse, and a revitalized landscape designed by , to target LEED Platinum—the first such certification for a purpose-built open-air US theater. 🎭

Posted • Intermission: The Historic Theater of the is temporarily on hiatus starting next month to undertake the first comprehensive renovation in its 91-year history, reports . The Apollo Stages at the Victoria will remain open during this next season.

BBB is part of the team working to expand and enhance this landmark of Black culture for the next generation, by upgrading seating, lighting, acoustics, and stage mechanics, and by creating new amenities and interactive ways to engage with the venue’s history.
“People will learn and be able to see the performers that made the Apollo what it is today,” said BBB Principal Christopher Cowan, “going back to the 1930s when the Apollo first started to allow African-American performers to perform there.”
