PUERTO VALLARTA SHOWCASES TRADITIONAL FISH TACOS
AT WINE AND FOOD WEEK IN HOUSTON
New York, June 10, 2016- The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board participated in this year’s Wine and Food Week Houston Sips, Suds and Taco’s day this evening.
The day was sponsored by the Mexico Tourism Board with Puerto Vallarta being the board’s invited destination along with Interjet, Fiesta Americana Grand and local Mexican restaurants.
Puerto Vallarta’s Chef Julio Cesar Castillon from Gaby’s Restaurant, a popular restaurant in Puerto Vallarta that features authentic Mexican food, distributed over 800 fish tacos and information on the destination as well as promotional gifts. While LATITUDE, the Puerto Vallarta’s Tourism Board’s PR agency in the USA and Canada answered questions on properties, tours, activities and flights from media and possible consumers.
Texas is one of Puerto Vallarta’s top US visitor generators, accounting for almost 6% of total USA visitors in 2015.
Drawing culinary masters and wine experts from around the world, the 12th Annual Wine & Food Week uncorks June 6-12, 2016 with scores of events featuring more than 500 wines, 50 restaurants, and legendary wine producers and culinary personalities.
Puerto Vallarta is one of Mexico’s leading culinary destinations, offerings hundreds of opportunities for foodies to enjoy different types of gastronomy, including typical street food from families who have sold tacos and ceviches for generations to Five Star Diamond Award restaurants that offer the latest in international dishes. Foodies with special dietary needs will find that Puerto Vallarta’s chefs are more than willing to include dishes that are gluten free, vegetarian, vegan and organic dishes.
Foodies will find that Puerto Vallarta’s restaurants are always willing to accommodate their patrons, and most dishes can be modified to meet vegetarian and vegan needs, so it is very important to communicate dietary needs to wait staff or Chef to ensure meals are cooked and delivered appropriately.
