“COWBOYS OF THE AMERICAS” THE STORY BEHIND THE PHOTOGRAPH
We begin our new interview series with the photographer behind Cowboys of the Americas LUIS FABINI a project exploring cowboy culture, identity, tradition, and the people who continue to carry its legacy across the Americas.
In this first chapter, we step inside the photographer’s vision: the inspiration behind the project, the experiences that shaped it, and the process of transforming an idea into a body of photographic work.
But making the photograph is only the beginning.
As the conversation unfolds, we explore another essential part of the photographic process: the relationship between photographer and printer.
It is a collaboration built on trust, interpretation, and a shared understanding of the image. Through the printer’s knowledge of process and material, the photographer’s vision takes its final physical form.
And that is where our story continues.
In the next chapters, we follow one photograph from Cowboys of the Americas through the hands of two master printers and two distinct photographic traditions: platinum-palladium and silver gelatin.
Stay tuned for the next chapters!
