25-year-old Ahmaud Arbery was chased, shot and killed by two white men while jogging in Southern Georgia in late February. ⠀

Ahmaud was chased and gunned down by two white men claiming they were conducting a citizen’s arrest for a burglary. He was simply just going for a run. ⠀
May Ahmaud rest in power. May he and his loved ones see justice somehow. Say his name. Inna illahi wa inna ilayhi rajioon. Fatiha. 🤲🏽 (art .creates)

Jay-Z is taking on the Super Bowl. The partnership between the mogul’s sprawling company, Roc Nation, and the NFL gives him influence with the league’s most important music events, like the Super Bowl halftime show, as well as its new social justice initiative. Jay-Z, who was a supporter of Colin Kaepernick’s police brutality protest, says he can live with criticism about the partnership if he’s able to use the NFL’s platform to convince white football fans that they too should be concerned about police brutality: “As long as real people are being hurt and marginalized and losing family members, then yes, I can take a couple rounds of negative press.”

When The Dean Collection, a platform supporting artists and visionaries from around the world founded by Swizz Beats and Alicia Keys launched their contest to give artist from all over the world a chance to win $5k to help them put on a show, I realized there wasn’t any Egyptians. When I discovered Hana El-Saginishe blew our minds!! First Egyptian to be a winner of the contest. Just the start!! Representing Egypt. Hoping this is just the start towards leveraging more Egyptian talents & creatives to the forefront. So proud of you!! ( P.S. we need to bring you to NYC for a show ) 😉💙 🇪🇬 “42 Bahgat Ali” is the address of Hana’s own childhood home, and the exhibition is a physical reflection of facets of her home mirrored at the gallery venue! Reminiscing on her childhood and through her adolescence, each piece of this installation is carefully chosen from her home and recreated to fit in the gallery space: a space which resides in a residential building and was once a home in itself.

Using life size wood cutouts, Hana El Sagini takes viewers on a journey through her poetic capturing of her childhood home in the 90s. That decade was a particularly important one, as it encompassed her teenage years, and represents a significant era of adolescence in the lives of all her friends and peers of the same generation.

Opening Sunday, November 17th and on view until December 7th at

In Jordan, we brought the patients of the King Hussein Cancer Center to a movie theater for a night out to see . Playing the Genie really showed me how I want to live to my life — waking up every day pushing to fulfill wishes and improve the lives of those around me.⁣

Thank you and for showing us the incredible work you’re doing at KHCC. (and big shoutout to my man ! 👊🏾)⁣
