Our new website for the Lower East Side Jewish Conservancy, a non-profit educational organization that preserves the Jewish heritage of New York City's neighborhoods. They had a cramped site that was difficult to navigate, especially for their many older visitors. The new site uses large headlines (in the slightly retro Abril Fatface font) to make it easy to read about and book one of the Conservancy's excellent tours. It also uses bold imagery selected from the Conservancy's large photo collection to convey the beauty of their sacred sites. Information about the organization is now much easier to access. A colorful foreground clip in the shape of a Star of David from a photo of a stained glass window is overlaid on the hero image, a historical black and white photograph, for a striking effect on parallax scrolling.

Our latest website is for 3GNY, an organization created by the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors devoted to preserving "the legacies and the lessons of the Holocaust." When creating a new site for an organization that already has one, it's always tempting to reproduce the old structure, even if it wasn't optimal. Instead, we tried to get a good sense of their character and what they most wanted to convey. Then, taking text they already had, we created a home page that emphasizes four primary themes in brief sections. The rest of the site elaborates on those themes for those interested in finding out more and provides more complete information about their activities. The home page draws you in, acting as a funnel. It doesn't just leave you to puzzle your way through the site.

3GNY is an educational non-profit organization founded by the grandchildren of Holocaust survivors. As a living link, we preserve the legacies and the lessons of the Holocaust.

Our new website for psychoanalyst Dr. Jamey Hecht. It's a challenge to create a genuinely good therapist's website. That's because a therapist needs to convey several things at once. Humanity--and a somewhat mysterious distance. Warmth--and a reassuring, solid respectability. Our work for venerable (30+ years) fashion house Clara Kasavina was especially gratifying. They had a bug-ridden website built with Magento that was causing them all kinds of trouble. It was also cramped and did little to highlight the beauty of their extraordinary designs. We created a clean, modern site that brought their visuals forward and let them dazzle. We also crafted their new tagline, "The Luxury of Excellence," rewrote some copy, and generated some mystique. We also beefed up their SEO efforts, managed their blog, and even did some PR.

We will be posting examples of our work here. We'll also add some appreciative commentary on our clients, their work, and what we wanted to accomplish for them. And, perhaps, the occasional trumpet blast for designers, photographers, artists, and others whose work we admire.
