Innovation heals. Children create hope. A high stakes narrative travels across the world on mission to inspire.

The chance to share the stories of Ukrainian Youth on a global stage using positive programming is meaningful work.

Speaking with Ben and Verlana illustrates just how connected the world of innovation is, when given the means to thread it.

Actually doing the work will always matter. Not just having an idea, but actually committing to the process of making it real.

For me, to truly be a steward of that beleif, I actually got involved. I got right in there, and spoke with these kids.

Here’s what you don’t see by only cheering for them onstage.

There is a story behind each one of these kids

Their inventions mean something to them

The process of creating changes them as young people

What’s the best way to expose that young human element?

Put on your oversized taupe blazer, get your camera guy on board, and ask them about their invention…

I’m fascinated by the concept of time travel.
What if I told you it was possible?

♾️The idea of non-linear time theory is something I practice.
🛠️ It’s part of everything I do.
🖼️ It frames how I think.

Imagine being deep into the future
Facing a problem that could have been solved in the past
How do you reach all the way back and change time?

You would simply need to invest energy into developing a generation of problem solvers, capable of thinking and innovating in a way that would make seemingly big problems actually feel quite manageable.

You probably participate in a company culture that does this:

Internships - Apprentices - Assistant Project Managers

Different from school, these programs are opportunities to install young talent into live-action scenarios where there is trust and accountability, risk and consequence.

There is no better way to learn, than to do.

Let the present be the teacher.

Now, show me tomorrow.

Paul S. Lavoie delivers an atomic speech and then runs out of the building… at the CT Invention Convention

So here’s what happened:

I introduce Paul to come on stage after me 👏🏼

This dude gets up there and crushes it 🔥

He rolls out a new initiative to manufacture CIC winners 🛠️

Drops an insane line in there “Gently Relentless” 💣

And then bounces! ✌🏻

I had to know… what he meant when he said that.

🏃🏽So I chased him down!

This is what I learned:

Gently Relentless is a Core Value

Tied Directly to Paul’s Leadership Philosophy

Centered Around Building People Up

Not Dismissing Them

By Continuing on the Path You Carve

Looking forward to his book 👀 Paul S. Lavoie

Sometimes the biggest win isn’t the award.

It’s getting the opportunity to recognize someone else’s work.

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of presenting the Jordan Conover Design Award at the Connecticut Invention Convention.

Out of so many incredible submissions, one stood out.

Daniel created a panic room concept designed to help protect people during emergencies like school shootings.

The engineering was impressive, but what really got me was the thought behind it.

The empathy.
The purpose.
The desire to solve a real problem.

That’s what innovation is all about.

Not just building something new.

Building something that matters.

Meeting Daniel and hearing his story was a reminder that some of the most powerful ideas don’t come from boardrooms or corporations.

They come from young people who see a problem and decide they’re going to do something about it.

Huge thank you to NextMinds and the Connecticut Invention Convention for creating opportunities like this.
The future is in good hands. ❤️

💡💡Big Ideas Lead To Big Moments🏆🏆

The contrast here is paramount…👧🏻 The littlest people on the largest stage.👦🏻

Next Minds Award Ceremony for the Connecticut Invention Convention is an outstanding example of how we can encourage participation in life changing programs, simply by creating an event as big as the ideas and inventions of the kids which it honors.

I’ve only ever listened to one podcast, and that was Jeff Staple’s Business of Hype. 🤝🔥 Hearing the real stories behind the creatives I admired made me see things differently. podcastlife designimpact
