OUR POWER, OUR PLANET! If we have the power to blast off to the stars and send humans around the moon, think what we could do back on our very own planet here at home. The focus for Earth Day 2026 is to accelerate renewable energy and promote community-energized climate solutions. Let’s all play a part today and every day - be inspired by what we can accomplish!

Did you know? New York artist, logo and lettering designer extraordinaire Michael Doret designed the classic KISS album cover Rock And Roll Over in 1976, and also designed the classic New York Knicks logo debuting in 1992-93! Among the countless designs Michael is responsible for over the years, he also designed the Starz logo, and was tapped again in 2007 for the KISS album Sonic Boom!

Multi-talented would be the appropriate word to describe Freddie Mercury. How many of you knew this bit of logo design history?

Before Freddie Mercury became a global rock icon, he was a student at Ealing Art College, where he earned a degree in Graphic Art and Design. This artistic background was instrumental in shaping Queen's visual identity. In 1973, Mercury personally designed the band’s "Queen Crest," a regal emblem intended to evoke a sense of British monarchical tradition.

The logo is a clever piece of personal symbolism, featuring the zodiac signs of all four band members. Two Lions represent the Leos, bassist John Deacon and drummer Roger Taylor. A Crab sits atop the central letter "Q" to represent guitarist Brian May, a Cancer. Below them, two Fairies represent Mercury’s own sign, Virgo. Looming over the entire arrangement is a Phoenix with its wings spread, symbolizing immortality and rebirth. This sophisticated crest, which first appeared on their debut album, remains one of the most recognizable logos in music history.
