In the realm of alchemy, the equilateral triangle embodies the triple forces of matter, life, and intelligence. The upward-pointing triangles personify active, masculine principles akin to air and fire. A simple, unadorned triangle is synonymous with the creative fire itself.

In 2020, the Hans W. Loewald Center founders hired me to design a logo that could capture the essence of the 21st-century psychoanalytic approach. The fusion of diverse ideas marks contemporary psychoanalysis.

Hans W. Loewald, a psychoanalysis pioneer, is renowned for his critical concepts and groundbreaking propositions. He introduced the captivating notion of the "ghost" to the world of psychology. As a preeminent psychoanalyst, Loewald delved into the enigmas of the unconscious, unveiling the idea that the "ghost" embodies the residual imprints of our past experiences and memories. These spectral echoes subtly shape our current thoughts and actions, akin to delicate shadows that mold our perceptions and reactions, often unbeknownst to us.

Guided by this vision, I crafted a dynamic logo that symbolizes the synergy between currents of thought and the spectral phenomena that Loewald introduced to psychoanalysis. The outcome is a compelling symbol that encapsulates the essence of the Loewald Center: a space where the profound interplay of transformative wisdom converges to nurture dynamic growth and comprehension, both in tangible and intangible dimensions.
