used our Bridge Sales Page Template to launch her very first online course, and I couldn’t be more proud!

Venturing into selling products as a social worker or therapist can be super daunting, so I loved hearing that our templates gave Kaleigh a leg up and a confidence boost to share her hard-won expertise with the world.

I’m a descendant of immigrants. If my grandparents and great grandparents hadn’t had the courage to leave their home for a better life, I wouldn’t be here today. The least I can do is have the courage to use my power and stand up for people who are trying to provide a better life for their families.

Thinking of deleting your website? Please, don’t. 🫠

Recently, a former Template Reframe client, Lindsay McCartney, LCSW, emailed me with a great question:

→ “I’m moving from Texas to Washington and joining a group practice. They’ll handle all the marketing, and I’ll be listed on their site. What should I do with my website while I make the transition?”

Deciding what to do with your website during a pause can determine the health of your website for years to come.

People who aren’t familiar with your line of work don’t understand it as intimately as you do.

And they especially don’t understand industry-specific terms, so it’s your job to make sure your website is meeting them where they are.

This simple clarity is key on any website!

From Therapist to Designer for Therapists

In 2014, I received my Masters in Counseling and Art Therapy from Naropa University in Boulder, Colorado. Before that, I had completed a BFA with emphasis in Photography & Intermedia in 2011. I always imagined I would use my education to open a business, and after pursuing counseling, I assumed that business would be a private practice. But after working in the field until 2016, and discovering more and more about myself, I realized that I was not meant to be a counselor (cue existential crisis!).

When I finally came to terms with the fact that my life and career was not going to play out the way I had imagined, I decided to launch myself into business ownership anyway. I opened an online business called The Growth Studio, where I used my skills to coach people through career transitions and early entrepreneurship. I called on my BFA experience to build myself a beautiful website, and I studied everything I could about how to build and grow a business.

Throughout my journey, I found myself spending lots of time editing and tweaking my website. I loved the process of connecting with my potential clients through visual and written language, and mastering this art was one of the most enjoyable aspects of my early entrepreneurial days.

It wasn't until Thanksgiving Day, 2017, when my partner's cousin asked me to redesign her website, that I realized just how much I loved this work.
