Tonight on Turner Classic Movies: TCM at 8pm!!! See Andrew Muscato’s docu concert — NEW WORLDS: THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION — the brain-child of Bill Murray and renowned cellist Jan Vogler.

This is the first time both the documentary and Bill have appeared on TCM.

It has been my great pleasure to bring this excellent concert documentary — and Bill Murray — to TCM. Thank you to Andrew and his team for trusting me with their “baby.”

It is always a pleasure to work with TCM’s Charlie Tabesh (one of the genuinely wonderful people in the business) and the wonderful Susan Biesack and Courtney O’Brien, among others.

Andrew’s NEW WORLDS: THE CRADLE OF CIVILIZATION shares Bill Murray’s contagious love of the arts and performance. On a glorious Greek evening, screen legend Bill Murray and world-renowned cellist Jan Vogler rock the Acropolis with a timeless mix of poetry and music. As perfectly stated in the link below, “Here, [Bill] embraces poetry, serenades the audience and expresses a joie de vivre that inspires us all to do the same.”

Andrew knocks his snapshot of Bill (in this unique setting) out of the park — as validated by the Cannes laurels that grace the opening title card. While not as lauded as the Festival de Cannes logo, look for my Fiore Media Group logo to close out these lively, one-of-kind, proceedings.

Bill loves TCM as much as he loves the Chicago Cubs so you’re in for a treat when he talks cinema with Ben Mankiewicz on-set tonight.

The evening kicks off with NEW WORLDS, followed by the great John McNaughton’s MAD DOG AND GLORY, and closes with indie icon Jim Jarmusch’s BROKEN FLOWERS.

Production friends! We are looking to expand our roster of Hair/MUA artists in NYC and NJ. Looking for those willing to act as “support” to documentary on-camera talent who need a professional’s “touch up” throughout a day.

Documentary budgets can’t sustain $1200 commercial day rates, so we are looking for those with experience but flexibility in their rates. DM your recommendations! Thank you.

We are so honored to be the caretaker of Disney Legend Floyd Norman’s life story via our feature documentary Floyd Norman: An Animated Life (The Criterion Channel). He continues to be a part of, and influence, animation history. From Variety:

In 1958, Esquire published “A Great Day in Harlem,” a photo taken by Art Kane of 57 jazz musicians ranging from Thelonious Monk to Coleman Hawkins gathered together on a New York City stoop. In an homage to that historic picture, on June 5, 2022, Nickelodeon Animation and Paramount Pictures organized “A Great Day in Animation,” which features 54 Black professionals working in animation today. Taken by Randy Shropshire with Jeff Vespa as production lead and obtained exclusively by Variety, the photo is above. As industry leading animator and photo organizer Marlon West explains, “In the original photo, Coleman Hawkins is standing front and center. He was one of the elders of those folks. I just envisioned Floyd Norman standing in Coleman Hawkins’ spot, and all of us radiating out from him, and Leo Sullivan and other grandmasters who have upped the game.”
