I woke up yesterday morning and read The Wall Street Journal’s article, titled, “The Rise of Million-Dollar Companies with Just One Employee” and promptly had it emailed to me simultaneously by multiple friends and associates.

There’s no doubt about it. With the technological advances in AI we have access to, we’ve entered the age of highly functioning, highly profitable companies with one employee. Of course, highly profitable single employee companies have been extremely profitable for decades, but the rise in easy-to-use AI tools is catapulting the category into primetime.

Food security starts with fertilizer security. Idaho Ag Today highlights Millennial Potash Chairman Farhad Abasov’s warning about the world’s concentrated potash supply and why new sources matter.

For decades, governments have focused on energy security. Increasingly, they're being forced to confront something even more fundamental: food security.

Does a company really need to own every member of its workforce to deliver quality and accountability?

That's been the conventional wisdom in physical security for decades. Peter Platten, Chief Revenue Officer at Protos Security, argues it's time to challenge that assumption.

His SecurityInfoWatch.com article explores how technology is changing the way service organizations scale, manage quality and deliver results, with lessons that extend well beyond the security industry.

It's a thoughtful perspective on how business models evolve and why some industries resist change longer than others.

How have global conflicts changed the fertilizer market and the future of food security?

In this new interview with The Prospector News podcast, Millennial Potash Chairman Farhad Abasov explains how geopolitical events have reshaped global potash supply chains, why countries are looking to diversify fertilizer sources, and why Gabon's Banio Potash Project is well positioned to help meet growing global demand.

Bloomberg is highlighting one of the defining stories behind America's rare earth resurgence: building the skilled workforce needed to support a new domestic supply chain.

Aclara is playing an important role through partnerships with Virginia Tech, Stanford University, and Argonne National Laboratory while recruiting the next generation of chemical engineers and metallurgists to help build a secure, integrated heavy rare earth supply chain outside China.

An encouraging look at the people helping shape the future of critical minerals.

Breaking news: reporters enjoy holidays too. Shocking, I know.

If your inbox is filling with out-of-office replies this week, don't panic. Some of the smartest work you'll do all year won't result in an immediate placement. It'll prepare you for the next one.

I even landed a client on CNBC during the week between Christmas and New Year's. Strange things happen when everyone else has mentally checked out.

My latest Substack newsletter for The Accidental Publicist is all about making quiet weeks work for you.

A receptionist recently informed me that I'm one of only three people at my Pilates studio to complete more than 800 classes.

Turns out I've done well over 1,000, but a scheduling app change stole some of my credit. Technology. Always finding new ways to disappoint us.

The milestone got me thinking about how strange life can be.

The kid who hated gym class. The kid who dreaded dodgeball. The kid who spent years believing she wasn't athletic.

Now she's the woman doing Pilates five or six days a week and occasionally making insecure men in class nervous when she reaches for heavier weights.

This isn't really a story about fitness.

It's about discovering that some of the things we believe about ourselves aren't true at all.

My newest Substack for The Accidental Publicist is up now.
