Brooklyn Printworks is a fine art print master film and scanning studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, founded by Ken Allen.

With a background in color science and digital imaging from Rochester (both RIT and Kodak), we use a scientific approach to ensure that our work is precise.

We appreciate Hahnemühle Certified Studio Gold certification.

We love scanning old Kodachromes, this image from the 70's . After scanning we made new archival pigment print, respecting a badly stained c.1980 C-print, but letting the beautiful white accents of the hats, dress, and purse read correctly.
Severtly, I do love the patina of the vintage c-print, but sadly this is just an temporary state, it will continue to fade and stain. The new print made under the artist's direction will stay true for a century.

There are many things in our surroundings we take for granted because they’re everywhere—they’re simple and they work. But sometimes their very ubiquity makes them significant: think of wood framing, a system so basic and straightforward that it is used to build more than 90 percent of all hou...

It's hard to tell from the photos, but we got to use a satin silver wallpaper for a title wall at the Folk Art Museum in NYC. They always give us great projects. We also reproduced a painting using dye sublimation onto aluminum, you can see that to the left in one of the photos.

The small exhibits are as fun as the large exhibits. Good luck on your show Caroline Voagen Nelson!
