Scott Mead, inspired by his former teacher William Eggleston, presents this series of coupled photographs focusing on composition, texture and colour to show how the natural and constructed worlds can mirror and contain one another.
Although not always immediately obvious, the qualities these images share and the relationships between them help us see the world from a new perspective, with results that are in turn exhilarating, poignant and lyrical.

Writer and poet Brad Leithauser’s thoughtful and reflective introduction sheds additional light on the complex and joyous interaction between the photographs and the evocative stories they conjure

Equivalents by Scott Mead is available from all good booksellers today (North America and Canada December 6th)

In 2019, we published Surf Like A Girl, by Carolina Amell, profiling 30 women surfers participating in the sport today, with spectacular photography and their own inspirational words. The book includes American professional surfer Lindsay Steinriede on how her father’s death inspired her career and activist Leah Dawson on empowering women.
