Technology is constantly changingβ€”and so are the apps children and teens use to communicate, meet new people, share photos and videos, and interact online.

The Kenner Police Department is encouraging parents and guardians to stay informed about the apps their children are downloading and using. Some popular apps include features such as private messaging, disappearing content, live video, location sharing, anonymous communication and connections with strangers. Others may even be designed to disguise or hide photos, videos, files or browsing activity.

⚠️ Knowing the app is only the first step.

Parents should regularly talk with their children about online safety, know which apps are installed on their devices, review privacy and location settings, and discuss the dangers of communicating with strangers. Most importantly, keep the conversation open so your child feels comfortable coming to you when something online doesn’t feel right.

You don’t have to know everything about every new appβ€”but you do need to stay involved.

The Ad that turned β€œDigital Trash-Talk” into a Physical Nightmare. πŸ₯ŠπŸ“‰

Paddy Power’s β€œSocial Squad” isn’t just a commercial; it’s a global study on Consequence Materialization. In 2026, where the line between digital and physical is blurred, this campaign weaponizes the universal human fear of social confrontation.

THE PSYCHOLOGY: 🧠
This leverages the Online Disinhibition Effect. People act more aggressively online because of perceived invisibility. By physically removing that invisibility, the brand triggers a massive spike in Cortisol (stress). The β€œRelief” comes when the viewer realizes it’s a joke, creating a Dopamine-led memory anchor. This ensures the brand is associated with β€œJustice” and β€œFair Play.”

The β€œKeyboard Warrior” is a universal archetype found in every corner of the internet. Whether it’s football in Europe, basketball in the US, or combat sports globally, the desire to see a critic face the professional they’re critiquing is a primal human satisfaction. It taps into the β€œFairness Heuristic”—our innate psychological need to see the scales of effort vs. criticism balanced.

If you had to face the person you last critiqued online, what’s your first move? πŸ‘‡

Re: ChatGPT health, your sensitive data, and influencers trying to convince you that this is a good idea. There are a few practical applications for AI in healthcare… I promise you that this is not one of them. Also, please do not mention any creators you have seen posting this ad campaign in the comments as those comments will be deleted as that is between those creators and their followers. I am sharing my opinion on the matter and letting you know that you won’t be seeing any sort of push for this feature from me.

Australian Lamb launched its latest summer campaign, humorously targeting the divisive nature of online comments. Created by Droga5 ANZ, the ad featured real social media remarks, showing Aussies bickering over everything from tea to AI. The campaign suggested that the simple act of sharing a lamb barbecue could unite the nation, urging people to step away from online arguments. This marked Droga5 ANZ’s first campaign since their rebranding. The ad premiered on major TV networks and was supported by a broader media push.

Ad Agency: Droga5 ANZ, part of Accenture Song
Director: Max Barden
DOP: Crighton Bone
Production Company: The Sweetshop

A spokesperson for Meta responded with the following statement:

β€œThis former employee is trying to use the legal process to sell books, which an arbitrator already ruled broke the agreement she signed with the company when she accepted a large severance payment years ago. Her book is divorced from reality, disparaging and riddled with false claims.”

Key things to remember πŸ”‘β€΅οΈ:

⭐ Predators often target a child’s emotional needs before they target their boundaries.

⭐ The goal is usually trust first, not explicit content.

⭐ Kids who fear punishment are less likely to report concerning interactions.

⭐ Predators frequently move conversations from public spaces to private messages.

⭐ Many grooming situations involve weeks or months of relationship-building before any obvious red flags appear.

⭐ The most protective tool isn’t parental monitoring. It’s having a child who feels safe telling you anything.

Save for later & share with another parent who could use it. Hope this helps πŸ’›

⚠️ URGENT PRODUCT RECALL: SOCIAL MEDIA FOR CHILDREN ⚠️

Platforms linked to addiction, grooming and worsening mental health in children are just a tap away in every app store.

We think that’s mad.

If toys were this risky, they’d already be off the shelves.

If they were contaminated food products, supermarkets would pull them overnight.

So we made some guerrilla β€˜product recall’ posters for the biggest social platforms :)

They’re free to download, so you can print them out and warn your local community!

Yes they’re tongue in cheek. But the message is deadly serious.

Addictive and dangerous products shouldn’t have unrestricted access to our children.

Tag someone who should put one up in their area!
