Wow, long time no see Facebook followers! We've been very busy doing many projects and it has been hard to socialize that much. Anyway, here you can find some interesting article, not related with design or advertising but space and science:

Un análisis realizado por la NASA, gracias a información y muestras recogidas por el vehículo explorador Curiosity, muestra que hay una cantidad sorprendente de agua en el suelo de Marte.

Today, we received the usability report from the County of Tulare HHSA website, designed and developed by Cows Love UFOs and Guust Nieuwenhuis made by Henry D. Delcore, Ph.D. and Kimberly Arnold from the Institute for Public Anthropology of California State University, in Fresno. Here are some excerpts we'd like to share with you:

"The new Tulare County HHSA website enabled usability test participants to successfully accomplish most tasks with a high degree of effectiveness and efficiency. (...)

The bulk of participant comments indicate that they found the site easy to use, and felt that it had a lot of useful information presented in a logical manner. (...)

Participants praised the architecture of the main menu, and their effectiveness at the tasks indicates that the strategy of including sub-menu options under multiple main menu headings facilitated their effectiveness.

The meaning of link labels generally met participants’ expectations. However, some program names are not known to clients (e.g. “Calfresh”); a general review of link labels for program names that are not in general use among clients is warranted.

(...)

The website left all eight subjects with a favorable opinion of Tulare County HHSA..."

These are good news. We know emotions are important with creativity, but effectiveness is too. This study made to 8 subjects chosen by a team of anthropologists leave us in good shape when its about websites creation.

We're happy everything went well with the longest project we've done.

And to finish, just something our client told us "Quality, takes time." And the client agreed we did it fine. If they're happy, we' re happy too!!!

Ok, time to see another project that just left the oven. Create this website was a real challenge, because, as some of you must know, the common web server operative systems are Windows or Linux. In this case the client (The Tulare County Health and Human Services Agency) needed to create their new website under Coldfusion servers because the whole county works with it. And more than that, they asked us to work in a Coldfusion CMS called MURA. It's a not-so-popular CMS, but works really well. After months and months trying to understand MURA and Coldfusion, we finally finished this site.

It's an informative website about the health and human services affairs in this county. With a very complex network of information and external resources. Now the client has just filled out the content in English and they're uploading the content in Spanish too. It could looks simple, but the most interesting is the back-end. Very detailed, refined and with a lot of "internal" taylor-made specs. We really want to say thank you to all the people involved with it, specially Guust Nieuwenhuis, Camilo Cortés and Iván Becerra. It has been a complex work, but we did it!!!

The site is here: www.tchhsa.org

Enjoy!
