Today, as we honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., we’re reminded that the progress he fought for has never come easily. Justice has always demanded courage, sacrifice, and sustained action from ordinary people. We see his legacy in those who show up—at protests, in community meetings, and through acts of conscience—to defend their neighbors’ rights. In people demanding accountability, protecting due process, and refusing to support systems that undermine democracy. These choices matter. They always have. As Dr. King said, “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
