My fellow The Business Council of Westchester member and now also a dear friend, Dawid Wiacek, is trying to raise money for the non-profit Paws Crossed Animal Rescue in Elmsford. He’s donating all of the proceeds from the sale of his ebook during May, which is National Pet Month. Let’s help him save some pets in need. I just bought one!

Kicking off National Pet Month with a story of heart, purpose, and giving back... with some vibes! 💕

We are so proud to partner with Dawid Wiącek, founder of The Career Fixer (and Paws Crossed adopter!), whose book "Everything My Dog Taught Me About Resumes, Networking & Navigating Career Change" blends career advice with a love of dogs.

After losing his beloved Nacho (a friend and supporter of Paws Crossed), Dawid found his way back to Paws Crossed adopted Scooby Roo —and now, throughout May, 100% of book proceeds will support pets at PCAR. ❤️

"Paws Crossed gave me Scooby Roo when I needed him most," said Wiącek. "This is my way of saying thank you—and of reminding job seekers that the lessons our dogs teach us about loyalty, patience, and connection matter just as much in our careers as they do at home."

For more information and to order your ebook copy, please visit:

Every purchase helps provide food, medical care, and safe shelter for dogs and cats at Paws Crossed!

Thank you Dawid and Scooby Roo!!! ⭐️

A couple of months ago...as a Bronx-Westchester Advisory Board member of VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired... I had the opportunity to see Frankie (featured in the video below), give an outstanding presentation to residents of The Wartburg Adult Care Community about how VISIONS can assist those loosing their eyesight. Frankie is a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist and demonstrated how seniors loosing their eyesight can use assistive devices to enable them to lead normal lives in spite of their disability. Brava Frankie! You are a gift to those you share your wisdom with!

Last week was the annual Security Expo at the Javits Center. ASIS NYC Chapter(American Society of Industrial Security) is one of the main sponsors and we have been designing and producing Security Director magazine for this client for the past 28 years. The magazine was distributed digitally pre-Expo and then given out to attendees. They decided to discontinue the magazine this year but they invited Diane and Don to the Person of the Year luncheon to acknowledge our contribution. The Person of the Year was the NYPD Police Commissioner, Jessica Tisch and on the dais were Bill Bratton, John Miller and many other law enforcement luminaries as well as the Board of ASIS NYC.

The Chapter Chairman, Brian Reich, asked us to stand and as a symbol of appreciation gave us each a plaque that said “…your tireless efforts in branding and communication have elevated our mission and strengthened our connection to the community.” And the 350 attendees gave us a standing ovation. We really appreciated the acknowledgement.

The Business Council of Westchester always has interesting and informative events. But this past week was especially outstanding. It was a review and analysis of the recent NYC election by Dominic Carter an ABC radio host and Annie Norbitz, VP, Research, Global Strategy Group. Both presenters were extremely knowledgeable and Annie had about a dozen very informative charts dissecting many aspect of the vote (see attached). Several people, like Marsha Gordon, had a chance to add their perspective.

As their The Business Council of Westchester Ambassador… and also having a passion for cooking…I was very excited to visit Zwilling USA Cooking Studio recently. It’s a fabulous place for personally learning culinary techniques and/or for team building events. Stephen Schwartz greeted me when I arrived and was kind enough to take me into a knife skills class for their summer interns. Chef Bernard Janssen was the instructor and afterwards we got to chat about the Netherlands (where he’s from), which is right next door to Belgium, where Don and I spent several years living and working. Thank you, Stephen, for your warm welcome.

I’m truly humbled and incredibly honored to be receiving an award from VISIONS/Services for the Blind and Visually Impaired, an incredible 98-year-old nonprofit that has been providing life-changing, free services to its participants.

A heartfelt congratulations to my fellow honorees: Frank D. Sanchez, PhD President of Manhattanville University and Empire City Casino by MGM Resorts & MGM Resorts Foundation and Drita Zagreda, Patient Care Associate, NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi Medical Center and Nursing Technician at White Plains Hospital (WPH). Please join us on April 8th at The Surf Club On The Sound and support the remarkable work of VISIONS. visionsvcb.org/events

This is not just a recognition of our efforts, it’s a testament to the collective power of a community that believes in accessibility, independence and dignity for all.

Recently made a trip to Cooper Union to contribute a collection of packaging design that was collected by Don Blauweiss during his years of travel around the world as an art director/ creative director. Cooper is Don’s alma mater.

Don lived for several years in Germany, Belgium, as well as in Brazil. His last agency job was as a world‐wide trouble shooter for Doyle Dane Bernbach, which took him to many other countries.

As a package designer himself he would pick up samples of packages wherever he went: Russia, China, Brazil, all over Europe and, of course, the U.S.

In addition to 3 cartons of this multi‐nation collection, he also delivered a carton of some of his own package designs to Alexander Tochilovsky, Curator of The Herb Lubalin Study Center of Design and Typography at Cooper Union.
