When language and image collide, identity becomes architecture.

Contemporary Artist Móyòsórè Martins is featured in The Language & Image of Us, a group exhibition now on view in Accra.

Martins’ work sits at the intersection of heritage, migration, and contemporary identity — layering Yoruba symbolism, text, abstraction, and personal iconography into canvases that challenge and question in equal measure. The recurring word “Why?” moves through his practice as both disruption and dialogue.

This exhibition positions his work within a global conversation on language, image, and authorship — a conversation that continues to expand across New York, Lagos, Accra, and beyond.

The first ever exhibition exploring the iconic Watchman character by artist also known as Móyò, so beautifully captured its evolution by talented art writer for on today's opening "The Watchman." 👀

Saturday, September 13th through October 31, at Gallery (Obermarkt 51, 82418 Murnau am Staffelsee. 🇩🇪🇳🇬🇺🇸

The Watchman is more than a character. It’s a movement—rooted in Black futurism, cultural convergence, and the urgent questions of belonging and transformation. This show not only celebrates its evolution—it sets the stage for what comes next in the Móyòsóré Martins brand.

Also on display in New York, are two pieces by Móyò for Blue Planet Umbilicus, a collaboration with LDM Art Global, curated by and Charles A. Riley II, PhD, on view through September 30. 🖼️

Join me there for an all female Art Talk on Sept 17 from 5-6:30 p.m. for "What’s the meaning of HOME for the time now?” Along with Ray Zeng, founder of Aureva Innovation Corp. (hosting along with LDM Art Global), and special guest Linda H Zhang, Ph.D, a collector and founder of Stonecreek Ventures and co-founder of Women in ETFs (exchange traded funds).
