A LoRA (Low-Rank Adapter) is trained on visual styles, characters, or aesthetics to influence how the AI video model generates individual frames or stylized animations. Each LoRA acts like a filter or memory bank that tells the AI how to interpret a prompt, embedding a specific look or feel into the model.
When we train a LoRA, we associate it with a unique style word—a keyword or thematic phrase we can later use in prompts to trigger its influence. We curate images that represent the concept and write prompts for each. A training process then generates a .safetensors file with the LoRA weights and associations.
We’re currently working with Hunyuan Video, an open-source video generation model that switches between real and virtual styles. It creates high-quality, frame-consistent video from text or image input, but we pair it with custom-trained LoRAs that fine-tune the model in unique, purposeful ways. The LoRA shapes how the model sees and interprets prompts.
In ComfyUI, we load LoRAs into the Video Creator panel and adjust their strength or combine multiple LoRAs to create hybrid styles. For example, we might blend a painterly brushstroke LoRA with a neon sci-fi one for a totally unique result.
We also use short video references for the AI to build on and apply LoRAs over them. By tweaking denoising strength, we control how much the AI interprets or sticks to the source: more denoising = more hallucination and style; less = closer to the footage.
This lets us generate handcrafted-feeling animations without animating from scratch. These outputs aren’t for commercial use yet, but the process is powerful for ideation, moodboarding, and AI-driven motion concepts clients can later commission.
LoRAs are modular, lightweight, and swappable. We’re building a style library we can remix, to personalize content or tailor visuals for specific audiences or use cases. It opens up new ways to experiment with storytelling, AI-assisted direction, and motion design.
This kind of work takes training, experimentation, and real knowledge of the tools. We’ve been following closely and shaping our process as it evolves.✨
