Omarion finally touched me 😩 But the only symptom I have (thankfully/prayerfully) is a runny nose. I’m sure the privilege is going to hop out on this post so I’m going to try and be mindful.

HOW I TREATED MY MILD COVID AT HOME:
1. Firstly, I’m staying home. It is wild how I barely have any symptoms and feel fine. It is also scary because that means that people are out here in these streets and probably don’t know that they have COVID. I know it is a privilege to be able to stay home and isolate and I am grateful for that. If you’re able to stay home and isolate, PLEASE DO!

2. I’m triple vaxxed and I believe the CDC is saying some side eye s**t. Whatever your views are on vaccination, I’d say, it’s pretty obvious that being vaccinated makes the symptoms less severe and treatable at home. We need to give the hospitals a break, y’all.

3. Water has been my annoyance and my elixir. Everyone knows that when you’re sick you’re supposed to drink water and go lay down, so that’s what I’ve been doing.

4. My friend put me on to my current vitamin regimen. I’m taking multi vitamins, turmeric, super b complex, d3, iron, and potassium

5. has been the real MVP. I don’t cook on a good day, but I’ve been heavily relying on Fruces (POC owned located in Harlem) for my daily fruits and veggies. Again, privilege 🙃

6. is always gon be that girl. I put it under my nose, behind my ears, on my neck, my chest, and the soles of my feet. We gon way back and imma stick beside her.

7. I didn’t treat COVID with an at home test but I took one of the COVID antigen tests and it came back negative. Then I took the other 48 hours after (as recommended) and it came back positive. That made me go get a PCR test just to be sure. And that came back positive. Shout out to for the recommendation!

8. One of the most important ingredients to me feeling as well as I do is rest. Y’all know the importance.

Feel free to share how you are boosting your immunity these days!

Share if you feel/felt like this was helpful ♥️ I’m tryna get TF ASAP out of this Panasonic

Until Freedom is an intersectional social justice organization rooted in the leadership of diverse people of color to address systemic and racial injustice. They believe that those closest to the pain are closest to the solution, therefore, we focus on investing in those who are the most directly impacted by cyclical poverty, inequality, and state violence. They are a clearinghouse for advocates, new & budding activists, seasoned community organizers, students, movement lawyers, entertainers and artists, policy experts, formerly & currently incarcerated individuals, and survivors of gun violence to work linearly to uplift all Black people. Everyone is worthy, everyone is needed to win.

We’re spending a lot of time with ourselves these days. I hope that you are taking this time to love on all of you - marveling in every curve and every crevice. Our bodies are art and I want to celebrate our masterpieces. ⁣

&Okra
I’ve been thinking about a rebranding for some time now. I’m very attached to my name and to me it represents who I am (duh), and who I do it for - Black women. But I wanted to start branding my work and putting my name and initials on things people wear/showcase wasn’t making sense anymore. New name but same game.

Ackee & Okra represents me, the African diaspora, and feeding people the nourishment they need through art, apparel, and affirmations. Personally, the ackee represents my Jamaican heritage through my maternal grandparents and the okra represents my African American lineage through my dad’s side (and African roots in general tbh). Both things come together to make me the Jamerican that I am and both sides shaped me into the purpose that I’m walking in today. I’m excited to share new projects and to continue uplifting Black people (Black women specifically). Stay tuned.
