The library, separated from the primary flow, doubles as a guest room. Royal blue grass cloth walls and Chihuly rug create a cozy space to curl up. Pocket doors on each side of the room provide privacy or open for complete flow when entertaining.

A dressing closet leads from the Primary Bedroom into the Primary Bathroom. A pocket door with original etched glass provides privacy when desired. The floor was leveled to create a no-curb transition into the shower. Goralnick designed a new tile frieze fabricated by Complete Tiles to match the existing floor pattern. The recessed shower panel and open console sink keep the space open and light.

A narrow hall leads from the bedroom to the bathroom. We used etched glass from the original structure in the sliding door to the bath and the transom over the portal to the suite. Every inch of space was organized for storage.

This open living room and dining area provide an airy, serene space.

The space encompasses casual meals at the counter, more formal dining, entertaining, conversation, lounging, reading, and watching TV. Artwork based on the vintage TV test pattern slides apart top hide a large flatscreen TV.

The core millwork design continues into these areas. Beams and mouldings hide the central AC system, columns, and risers in a discrete, decorative way true to the apartment’s history. The Tuscan column added by Mark Hampton in an earlier incarnation was retained.

Glimpses of the Central Park view are seen through the original mahogany doors with a restored etched glass transom.

I was excited to see my Hatton fixtures at the Ruth’s Chris steakhouse in the Denver tech Center.

There are 5 of them, that make you want to stop as you drive by and get a steak. OR at least a martini.

One of the most exciting things for me is to live with the things I’ve designed. In our guest bath we installed the plumbing fixtures and faucetry from my James Collection for Watermark Designs. They spring from my philosophy of “Industrial Chic." I am inspired by ordinary objects from the past like hardware, rendered in elegant finishes. This suite is Matte Black and Polished Brass. The classic black and white bathroom within the modern loft is highlighted by these glamorous. finishes.

The inconspicuous recessed outdoor lighting (therefore waterproof) gives wonderful illumination and disappears into the tiles.
