Birth and Early Life
Johnny Rodriguez III, widely known as "Hi-Stakes," was born in 1983 at Lutheran Hospital in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. Raised in the culturally diverse neighborhood of Bensonhurst, Johnny is a second-generation Puerto Rican-American. His parents, born in the U.S., trace their roots back to Puerto Rico, making Johnny deeply connected to both his American upbringing and

Puerto Rican heritage. He continued his studies at I.S. 96 Seth Low for middle school and later attended James Madison High School in Brooklyn. His academic journey continued at Kingsborough Community College, where his passion for the music industry truly began to take shape. Early Influences
From an early age, Johnny was inspired by the sounds of Whitney Houston, Madonna, Michael Jackson, LL Cool J, and the vibrant beats of freestyle music. These early influences shaped his musical tastes and set the foundation for his career in the music industry. Later Influences
As Johnny grew, his musical influences expanded to include some of hip-hop’s greatest legends. Artists like The Notorious B.I.G., 2Pac, Wu-Tang Clan, Big Pun, DMX, Mobb Deep, Nas, Noreaga, and 50 Cent left a lasting impact on Johnny, guiding his creative direction and solidifying his love for hip-hop. Johnny’s entry into the music world began in the early 2000s during his time at Kingsborough Community College. It was there that he met Daniel Hernandez, a.k.a. Shambo, who introduced him to influential industry figures like Boricua Jimmy, Kevin Valentini, and June Cardona. These connections led to Johnny's pivotal role as a Street Team Leader for Savage Mode / Arista / Sony Music. He played a key role in promoting and marketing some of the biggest names in music, including Bone Crusher, Red Café, Tyrese, OutKast, Fantasia, Blu Cantrell, The Clipse, Jadakiss, Pharrell Williams, Lil Jon, YoungBloodZ, Usher, T.I., Sean "Puffy" Combs, Ciara, Goodie Mob, Anthony Hamilton, Sean Paul, and more. Before the rise of digital marketing, Johnny mastered the art of guerrilla marketing. His strategies included hand-to-hand flyer distribution, poster placements, and brand promotion across every borough of New York City. From major clubs to local parks and parades, Johnny’s presence was felt everywhere. Johnny has been deeply involved in music production, having released three mixtapes titled Hi-Stakes Remixes Official Street Tape Vol 1, 2, and 3 (HSR 1, 2, and 3). These projects, known as official street tapes, have showcased his talent and dedication to the craft. His latest collaboration is with NYC hip-hop legend Tony Touch on a track called “Funx-Time,” produced by Luminary. Additionally, Johnny has strong ties to the Heavy Hitters crew, working closely with Big Spanish DJ Enuff and DJ Cause. Nightlife Partnerships
