Resilience is often misunderstood.

It’s not only something you discover in crisis.
It’s something you build beforehand through the way you care for yourself consistently.

Through habits.
Through perspective.
Through rest.
Through support systems.
Through rituals, boundaries, movement, reflection, faith, community, therapy, prayer, time in nature.
Whatever helps bring you back to yourself.

In many ways, resilience can be taught and strengthened over time.

And when difficult moments inevitably come, it usually looks less dramatic than people imagine:
– showing up when you don’t feel fully clear
– making decisions without perfect certainty
– continuing without immediate reassurance
– trusting yourself without needing complete control over the outcome
– returning to the practices that steady you instead of abandoning yourself under pressure

Over time, resilience becomes less about surviving isolated moments and more about how you move through life consistently.

The ability to sustain yourself while continuing forward.

Stress is often misunderstood.

It doesn’t always show up as overwhelm. More often, it looks like functioning at a high level, consistently, reliably, without pause, with a smile on.

Over time, that becomes the baseline. And that’s where the cost begins.

When everything is managed, nothing is processed. At least not as deeply as necessary. Real processing takes stillness and slow moving. Without that, clarity declines. Decisions become reactive. Energy depletes.

Managing stress isn’t about stepping back. It’s about creating the conditions to stay clear, measured, and intentional.

That’s what sustains performance and presence over time.

A truly special evening hosted by and Domaine Porto Carras in New York City.

Our guests gathered for a private vertical tasting of wines spanning four decades, including the remarkable 1990, 2006, and 2016 Château Porto Carras vintages, alongside the iconic Porphyrogennitos 1993.

It is exceptionally rare to experience wines of this age and historical significance side by side. Particularly because some were shaped under the guidance of Émile Peynaud, considered the father of modern Bordeaux winemaking and a visionary influence behind Domaine Porto Carras. We were grateful to be part of an evening that offered such a meaningful look at the depth, legacy, and evolution of Greek wine.

Thoughtfully presented by sommelier Marika Vida, the evening moved beyond tasting alone into conversation around legacy, terroir, aging, and the evolution of Greek wine over time.

Thank you to everyone who joined us for such a memorable night of wine, storytelling, and shared appreciation of history and taste around the table.

When wildfires swept through Chios, Greece, volunteer firefighters were among the first to respond.

Now, ahead of a new fire season, many of these crews urgently need equipment, protective gear, and resources to continue serving the island.

Every summer wildfires besiege Greece, and my beloved island of Chios is unfortunately not immune. Chios to me is home in many ways, and last year many of my friends and acquaintances rushed off to put out the two major fires that devastated the island. The volunteer firefighters of Chios do extraordinary work under incredibly difficult conditions. They protect homes, land, and lives, mostly with far fewer resources than they should have. I’m sharing this because it matters to me deeply.

It came to my attention that after last year’s blazes, their supplies have been dangerously depleted. I have started this fundraiser now because support cannot only come in moments of crisis. It has to come before too, in preparation — in the equipment, protection, and tools these volunteers need to keep going. These volunteer firefighters who show up, again and again, with courage, exhaustion, and very limited resources. This fundraiser is my way of standing beside them, and asking others to do the same. Not out of obligation, but out of care, solidarity, and respect for the people who keep showing up when it matters most.

Through , I’ve seen how powerful it can be when a community comes together. Today, I’m asking you to do exactly that. Truly no contribution is too small, and every act of support helps protect the people who protect Chios.
