A brief programming note from Kohas:

We came across the words above and thought they captured exactly the kind of summer we’d like to have. So for the next month, we will be taking a full break from social media.

Not from our clients.
Not from our work.
Not from the projects already in motion.
Just from posting about it.

We fully support everyone still answering emails from the beach, but for our part, we’ll be leaning into a more European interpretation of summer for the month focusing on being truly present and savoring each moment as much as possible. Then, feeling that as a success.

We hope you find a little space to do the same. See you in September!

Summer is here, and we’re here for it. 💃

If you danced last night, your brain is thanking you today. One of the easiest ways to support your brain is through music and movement.

When we’re young, dancing just happens. As we get older, life gets fuller. Work, family, responsibilities. Somewhere along the way, we stop making time to move for the joy of it. We wait for birthdays, weddings, and vacations to give ourselves permission.

Get intentional about creating those moments. If we’re not going out dancing anymore, we have to bring the dance into our homes. Turn up the music. Dance in the kitchen. Dance with children. Dance by yourself.

Your brain doesn’t care where you dance. It only knows that you did.

So let’s go!

The momentum that is carried forward rather than left behind.

It’s about creating the conditions for something meaningful to begin and ensuring it has the opportunity to continue.

Everybody wants a village. Not everyone understands you most often must build one.

We often think community is something we find spontaneously. More often, it’s something we create through small, repeated acts of care over time.

Remembering.
Following up.
Paying attention.
Checking in.
Showing up.
Reaching back out.

None of these actions feel particularly significant on their own. That’s what makes them easy to overlook.

Dr. John Gottman calls this “turning toward.” The small moments where we signal to another person: I see you. I’m paying attention. You matter.

Over time, relationships are built or eroded through these moments.

The same is true for friendships.
The same is true for teams.
The same is true for communities.

Effective communication is not only about what we say. It’s about the consistency and care of our attention.
