Lena McDearmid, founder and CEO of spoke with for their article on how to manage a team with conflicting personalities and how to turn clashes into cohesion.

Lena shares her insights on why to create ritual and name the storm. She says:

“Conflict is not a red flag. In healthy, high-performing teams, it is a sign that people are engaged and care about the outcome. The real challenge is not avoiding conflict, it’s knowing how to move through it without damaging trust.

One of the most effective approaches we use is teaching leaders to create ritual and name the storm—not just more meetings or surface-level check-ins.”

Mia Umanos, CEO & Co-Founder of , spoke with to share her experience moving from the corporate world to starting her own business. Bankrate shares how across the country, working women aren’t climbing off the corporate ladder because they stopped wanting more, but instead, because it’s slanted in the wrong direction.

Mia shared her thoughts on how flexibility can be a huge reward when running your own business and having the freedom to solve problems without asking permission. For Mia, it meant the chance to run her own philosophy — not someone else’s.

If you ask , facialist and founder of Monika Dragaj Studio, her opinion on the all-natural ingredient, she’d candidly admit she’s not a fan. “I don’t like sesame oil in skin care. In fact , none of my skin care products have it other than a hair oil,” she confessed. “Sesame seed oil may be fine for some to use but in my opinion there are better, safer oils available for use on the skin without risk. It’s also extremely heavy and greasy , which for most is not a desirable texture and likely to be very pore clogging.”

Summer is only a few days away and shares that the season is all about sun, pool days, and beach hangs, so we want to make sure these conditions don’t affect our hair, skin, and scalp.

UV rays, heat, chlorine, and salty water can all collaborate to leave hair discolored, dry, frizzy, discolored, damaged, or limp. So they recommend the Plage After-Sun Shampoo. PHYTO recently relaunched their after-sun line and this creamy foam washes away sunscreen residue, salt, sand, and chlorine while deeply hydrating. Calendula extract nourishes, repairs, and softens the hair fiber, while white mallow extraction adds amazing shine and suppleness.

Thank you  for spotlighting this powerful piece by Robert Hansen of Goodnation (). Fiscal sponsorship is one of the nonprofit sector’s most versatile tools, and Rob makes a compelling case for why more leaders should be using it.

With the backlog of 501(c)(3) approvals and the urgent need for fresh solutions, fiscal sponsorship gives changesmakershashtaga way to move fast and stay compliant. It’s not just a workaround, it’s a strategy — one that’s especially critical for 501(c)(4) advocacy groups doing policy, civic engagement, and movement-building work. When time is of the essence, fiscal sponsorship can be the difference between stalled momentum and real-world impact.

This model has helped Goodnation catalyze everything from the Campaign Fund to Close and Transform Rikers Island to Building for Democracy. It’s a smart way to fuel collaboration and impact.
