A friend asked me the other day, “Why aren’t you posting tips on how to create killer pitch decks, like you used to?”

My answer? Pitch decks are dead!

Here’s the truth: a deck doesn’t move the needle. It’s not the shiny slides or perfect graphics that get you funded.

That’s just noise.

Investors don’t buy decks—they buy you. They invest in your vision, your energy, your ability to execute.

Here’s why decks don’t matter anymore:

1. It’s a distraction: Founders spend weeks perfecting slides when they should be building their business, talking to customers, or refining their product.

2. Investors already know: By the time you’re pitching, investors likely already know your market, your competition, and the trends. They’re assessing YOU. How you think, how you handle pressure, how passionate you are.

3. Conversations over slides: Most investors want real talk, not rehearsed slides. They want to know how you’ll adapt, what you’ll do when things go wrong, and why you’re the person to pull it off.

4. Actions > Decks: Your traction, your growth, and your grit matter more than any deck. Show them what you’ve built, not what you hope to build.

So stop obsessing over the perfect pitch deck. Focus on what really matters - your story, your progress, and how you’re going to crush it.

Self-confidence is everything for a founder. Without it, every problem feels like the end of the world.

You can’t lead, you can’t make decisions, and you can’t take risks without confidence.

Here’s how you can build and keep bulletproof self-confidence no matter what comes your way:

1. Know Your Strengths

Start by knowing what you’re good at. You’ve already done big things as a founder. Think about your wins, your skills, and what makes you unique. Write them down.

That’s your base.

2. Less Talk, More Action

Confidence isn’t about talking big; it’s about doing. Every little step forward gives you more belief in yourself. Stop overthinking and start doing.

The more you do, the more confident you’ll feel.

3. You vs. You

Comparing yourself to others is a confidence killer. Focus on beating your own records, not someone else’s. It’s all about being better than you were yesterday.

Keep learning and growing.

4. Confidence Hacks

• People aren’t thinking about you as much as you think. They’ve got their own stuff going on.
• Critics? Forget about them. They’re usually not doing much themselves. Stick with people who lift you up.

5. Simple Confidence Boosts

• Own your story. Be the hero in your life, not someone else’s.
• Be real. Confidence comes when you’re being your true self.
• Stop caring what others think. Their opinions don’t matter. Your vision does.
• No negative self-talk. Talk to yourself like you would a friend.
• Forgive yourself. Every founder messes up. Learn from it and move on.
• Motto: “I’m doing my best.” That’s enough.
• Ditch the energy vampires. Keep people around who make you better.
• Try, fail, repeat. Confidence grows from trying and learning, not getting it perfect.
• Lean into your strengths. They’re your superpower.
• Ask yourself, “How can this be fun?” Confidence comes when you enjoy the ride.

6. Let Go

Stop trying to control everything. Confidence isn’t knowing all the answers. It’s knowing you’ll figure it out. Embrace the unknown and let life surprise you.

7. Find Your Tribe

Confidence spreads. Be around people who believe in you and push you to level up. Your crew will lift you when doubt creeps in.
