The most daunting task in marketing is trying to assign a monetary value to your efforts. Understandably, clients want to know how many posts will get them $X in sales, and how it relates to their revenue and client acquisition. It's not always that easy, and it shouldn't be. The true value behind marketing is developing and maintaining relationships, which can last lifetimes and generations, stretch through friend groups and pe*****te a market. Trying to measure how much money your efforts have raked in is like my parents trying to calculate how much my siblings and I cost them: the bills keep comin' and they won't stop comin'.

STOP treating this like a job and start acting like a person... it's okay. When I first started working, I was a zombie. A professional, well-dressed, polished, hospitable zombie. I did everything perfect to a T, would welcome feedback, said "please" and "thank you" far too often, and left my personality at the door. For some reason, I had brainwashed myself to think this shell of a person was what a young professional should look like, but it made it hard to develop greater workplace relationships and the days unbearable. My sales clients didn't feel the empathy I would try to get across, and everything I did seemed fake. Being my true weirdo self was what made my jobs fun again, helped me make friends at work, and defeat workplace depression. Not sure if this is a thing, but now it is. Let yo freak flag fly.
