A Huge Thank You to Everyone Who Applied!

We are overwhelmed with gratitude — and honestly, a little overwhelmed in the best possible way! The response to our Disaster Recovery Outreach Worker opening was incredible, and the talent and heart that came through in each application reminded us just how special this community is.

Choosing was genuinely hard. Every person who applied brought something meaningful to the table, and we did not take this decision lightly.

But — we are absolutely thrilled to share that we HAVE made our decision, and we cannot wait to welcome a brand new team member to the Cocke County LTRG family!

Stay tuned — we'll be making the official introduction in just a couple of weeks. We think you're going to love them as much as we already do.

From the bottom of our hearts — THANK YOU. Your willingness to show up for this work means everything.

Beginning our area May 27th, Masters level students from the University of Albany will be in our area conducting research on the process and effectiveness of aid relief. The goal of this research is to learn and share best practices to support future disaster survivors. Please reach out if you would like to be a part of this timely research with the University of Albany.

--------URGENT COMMUNITY ASK---------
Three Hurricane Helene survivor families in our community need a safe place to stay — and they need your help to find one.
Our disaster case managers are working with these households right now. Their homes are ready
to be rebuilt — but first, they need somewhere else to live while that work happens. We're
looking for short-term rentals of 3–6 months, and we have partners ready to help cover the cost.
A few things to know about these families:
∙All three households have dogs
∙Two households include at least one person with a disability
∙One family could alternatively use a donated camper
These are your neighbors. They've already been through so much. If you have a rental, know
someone who does, or have a camper you could donate — please reach out through the
following:
Email [email protected] or call 865-585-5450
All inquiries are confidential. Rental assistance funding is available.
