PROUD MOMMA MOMENT… 💗

So very proud that at college Ellia CREATED and PRINTED a 10 page OLD SCHOOL magazine for her dorm. Complete with puzzles that you need a pencil to complete ✏️✊🏽, interactive prompts to get classmates off-screen and mingling, and a homemade mailbox. 📫 ♥️

If you know me, you know how much I love this! 😍

THIS ONE is a reminder to myself. I’m weirdly intimidated by making art unless there’s a prompt, class or reason behind it. I overthink it before I even start.

Working on simply making something because it feels good — not because it has to be good. ♥️

Today’s goal? Get messy. Make something. (They kind of go hand in hand for me.)

Art isn’t reserved for professionals; it’s a universal language for everyone. Engaging in artistic activities—whether painting, drawing, or crafting—can significantly boost mental health, reduce stress, and foster creativity. You don’t need to be an ‘artist’ to appreciate the joy and therapeutic benefits of art. Embrace your creativity, explore new mediums, and remember: the process matters more than the outcome. Dive in and let art enrich your life!

Seeing what’s new in downtown Newton…

Tried the head spa (recommend!) and had a trim Salon FiG Healthy Salon & Spa • record store is under new ownership The Vinyl Chapter - (Grand Opening Labor Day!) • had to visit the “E” that we helped paint ♥️ • cool upcycled vintage finds .com_ • feeling nostalgic that the store owner in the 90s occupies the same storefront once again Interplay Couture • the restaurant mid-way is now Columbian Raices Colombianas | Restaurant & Bakery • patiently awaiting for the restaurant/bar across the street to be completed and open.

That’s all that I got! 😊

Every time someone says, “Why would I hire a designer when AI can do it?” a designer loses their wings.

Listen, use AI. I do.

But if your business card, logo, flyer, website, Facebook post, menu, event banner, and obituary all look like they were created by the same confused robot having a fever dream, maybe we’ve gone too far???

Signed,
Someone who still enjoys making things with a human brain 🧠✏️ ✊🏽

It’s Sussex County Community’s Choice Awards time — one of those fun reminders of just how many hardworking local businesses make this community special. These awards are something business owners proudly display all year long (and honestly, they should).

Outside of my 9–5, I’m fortunate to work with a few amazing local businesses in different capacities. I’m genuinely proud to see 3 of them nominated this year.

If you’d like to support them, voting is open today, tomorrow, and Friday — and you can vote every day! (See the link in comments):
