I'm an finally adding some new pics of jobs I have completed (well multiply this by 5) This is what I am doing if I don't answer your text or call in a timely fashion.
Most of the design work takes a lot of time. Especially when you have crafting OCD. Measure once, mark it, check it. Move it. Measure again. Change the color or font. Measure again. Look for the marker, find it across the room, mark the starting spot. Get a snack. Put item in M1 laser box. Forgot where the image was going to be so have to check framing. Got distracted for 2 seconds, have to check framing again. Maybe move it down 4mm. Check positioning. Move it back. Etc .... *my crafting friends and family know exactly what I am talking about.
One cutting board can take 3 hours to etch. The crossword board can take 6 hours. Then I smell like I've been standing next to a fire pit.
Tumblers take about 20 minutes per simple design.
I LOVE the creative process of what I do so the time flies.

When your main hustle needs a side hustle.
Here are the flavors cuz I know that is the question:
Bottom two levels: Dark chocolate cake with Bailey's Irish Creme Frosting
Middle Level: Orange cake with White chocolate frosting with crystalized orange zest for crunch
Top level: (usually the favorite) Lemon cake with Limoncello cream cheese frosting

Wedding cake flavors:
Vanilla layer and Lemon Layer with white chocolate frosting. The frosting was so light and fluffy!

Did a test cutting board for my Aunt n Uncle. Came out pretty good. Was a learning experience for sure! There are a few other words that I added cuz you know bacon and donuts for life.
The word search list is strictly a single family branch! Yeah we are a BIG family. The list on the right was added afterwards, I worried that they wouldn't find everything. Then I realized that I left some of the words out.....so yeah learning that as I create the puzzle, to keep track of the words. 🤣

What is sublimation is and how does it work?

Sublimation is a process of transferring a printed image onto an object. Whether that is a tumbler, tshirt, bag, coaster, bottle opener, etc.... many of those items need to have a specific type of coating for the image to stick.

I use Canva, Procreate, or Pixelmator Pro to create the designs. While this is the most time consuming part, other than testing, to me it is the fun part.
Once you print the design, you use different colored tape (JK) to affix it to your object, heat it up and VOILA and customized gift! You have to use sublimation ink. I've used regular laser copy paper and sublimation paper, the latter is much better in color saturation. I now have a dedicated printer and only use Sub paper.

What kind of designs you ask? If it can be printed, it can be done. The only limit is my imagination. Most of the time colors can be changed or adjusted. Objects can be removed from photos. Type of font and size can be changed.

Remember etching is one of my favorite things to do.
Thanks to an idea from the BF, I tested etching wine glass bases instead of the glass. By using different images, you can get rid of the little wine dangles people use to tell which glass is theirs.
You can see the what it looks like before I begin adding the etching cream and what it looks like after. I can add color to the acid etch, but the person who wants these also wants to be able to put them in the dishwasher.
Color + Acid Etch= No Dishwasher
Adding in a few other glass etchings that I have done recently. BTW taking pictures of acid etched glasses is very difficult. I may need to call my uncle for some pointers. Unless my Aunt sees this and goes to ask him for me. :)

Happy Sunday! Been awhile since I posted. I had writers block, then I had photographers block (I don't know if that is a thing but I am declaring it a thing), then I ran out of time, then I couldn't think of what to say.
Been making baskets like crazy. Some for closings, some for contests and a few for referral gifts.
The best part about this type of work is that there are so many options for personalization. Different fonts, different colors, different items and the ability to try new things.
