I enjoyed experimenting with this image in Adobe Lightroom. I’m still building my photo-editing skills, but consistent practice is helping me improve. 😊

My goal was to create a magical mossy path. The saturation may be a little strong, but the final result has a warm, glowing effect that makes the path feel more inviting and less spooky.

These are from a while ago, but I've been wanting to post them. Being the person behind the camera you don't usually get as many photos of yourself so these are fun to look at.

It's been such a dream to work at the Norfolk Botanical Garden

As we enter the last month of 2025 I look back on a year of so much growth and I can't wait for all the new things coming in 2026. Including The Garden of Tomorrow project...mostly the bistro... I want the snacks.

But also it is genuinely going to be amazing to be working at a place with such a inspiring brand new building focused on conservation. Art and nature are my two favorite things! What a blessing to get to work at such an amazing place at the intersection of my interests.

I am excited to have gotten to see the printed versions of these retractible banners that I worked on this summer alongside my team (Isabella DePaulo and Becca McSweeney).

Special thanks to our summer intern, Becca, for her significant contributions to the design concepts. The “Connect with Nature” banner featuring the sunflower served as the foundation for the visual style that informed the rest of the series.

It is rewarding to see these designs come to life, and I look forward to their use at upcoming events.

I am so grateful to have been part of this amazing collaboration between Norfolk Botanical Garden, Inc., Nauticus and the Virginia Zoo. It has been especially rewarding to see a logo I designed featured throughout the city – even on the big screen at Nauticus!

I can’t believe it’s almost been a year at Norfolk Botanical Garden. I’ve had the chance to use my skills in print and digital design while working somewhere that brings together all my passions nature, wildlife, conservation, education and design.

Seeing my work throughout the Garden has been incredible. I’ve loved contributing to the Garden’s mission to: Immerse visitors in a world of beauty, Lead through environmental action & Inspire through education and connection to nature.

I can’t wait to see what more the future holds for me here. 😊

The #1 Butterfly House in the U.S., as voted by , is now open at ! I had such a great time creating this sign. The Butterfly House was one of the first things I saw when I visited Norfolk for the first time before moving here and now a few years later I work at the Garden. I’ve taken a pause from freelancing so I can give more time and energy to my role at Norfolk Botanical Garden

It’s been a big shift in the best way, and I’ve been learning a lot, working with a team, and handling projects that keep me busy.

However, even with the pause, I recently had the chance to design a logo for Novas Nibbles LLC. The project came my way through a co-worker connection, and I couldn’t resist. 🐶

Once I’ve settled in a bit more over the next year or so, I do plan to take on an occasional freelance project here and there. I always enjoy the kind of work that lets me explore, create, and collaborate with people who are excited about what they’re building!
