New hair, same caffeine addiction 🥤

It may not seem like much, but my husband bought this for me today before he even knew I needed it. *cue the watery eyes

For the past 8 years, I’ve worked out of our home. Which made eating lunch pretty easy since my “office” was our kitchen counter.

After moving into my office across town, getting home for lunch now takes 15 minutes and I don’t want to eat out all the time (I know, it’s not that big of a deal, but it’s annoying).

So, tonight I was lamenting about it at dinner. He left to get groceries and came home with this sweet new Stanley 1913 lunchbox! My birthday is a couple weeks away and it was part of my gift, but he gave it to me early because he knew I needed it.

He’s always looking out for me. Trying to make things easier on me. Doing thoughtful things that mean a lot to me.

So, yes. It’s just a lunchbox. But it’s actually so much more than that.

Top o’ the mornin to ya! ☕️

Lately, if I’m not working by 6am…
I’m not getting enough done!

We’ve grown by three, full social media clients in the last week.
…and I volunteered to design my stepson’s football posters.
…and we had senior pictures last night.
…and school starts next week.
…and we’re helping plan three big events this week.

We’ve been BUSY! But, that’s how we like it.

Such a fun opportunity, thank you for having me!

Thank you to Sara Putters for coming to present at 1 Million Cups Norfolk today. She shared more about her business, Putters Media, a boutique marketing firm specializing in agency-level marketing services for healthcare organizations.

Sara works with each client directly to help them share their stories and messages in the best way possible so that they can better connect with their community. After Sara creates a website, she helps educate them on how to use and update it, since a website is a business's best marketing tool, and she believes a business should own their website after it's created.

When asked "what as a community can we do for you," she said that marketing firms exist for a reason, to help take the load off so you can better run your business without the worry of needing to create content. She also shared that supporting local businesses, by buying from them or working alongside them, is one of the best things you can do.

We'd also like to give a big thank you to Aaron Hall with The Daily Roast for providing coffee for 1MC Norfolk this month.

🚩Immediate red flag: your designer can’t create her own ad to promote her own services

I’ve blacked out her information, but this is the same design style I see consistently shared across social media.

“But Sara, how is it the same?” BECAUSE AI MADE IT FOR HER.

If you went to ChatGPT right now and entered a basic prompt about promoting your services and asked for a graphic, you’d get an almost identical image. Change a few business details and your business looks exactly the same as everyone else’s.

🚩No brand identity.
🚩No unique offering.
🚩No brand style.
🚩No brand voice.

Just AI generalizations.

AI is a great tool, but when we use it to replace our own brains and creativity it becomes a weapon used against people in my profession.

And I’m especially triggered by this being posted BY A DESIGNER.

Please. Stop. Doing. This.

Message me instead. Let’s make something special that actually stands out!

It’s coming to life!

My office space is officially operational 🤭

Soon I’d like to add a sitting chair or bench for visitors, but for now it’s perfect.

I really don’t need a ton of space, all my work is done on the computer, and I CANNOT WAIT to get back on Monday and get my butt to work!

🔮 Introducing Energy with Erin’s new brand + website!

Erin is a Psychic/Medium and Reiki Master Teacher based in New Hampshire. She desired a brand that spoke to her energy offerings and metaphysical experiences.

We decided on a rich, dark, purple mixed with splashes of cool gold and lavender to tell her brand story. 💜

When I spoke with Erin today, she said she was blown away! That I took what was in her head and put it on the screen. And I was like…isn’t that what you do for people in your job, too?!
